Athena Shepard has always been a free spirited warrior. She has always been exceptional at what she does, and while her high risk life was full of excitement and adventure, it never left a lot of room for real relationships. Oh, she's had her share of bed partners. Always had the pick of a room at any given opportunity, and many solid friendships have resulted from her eagerness to share her bed, but no commitment had ever evolved from her encounters.
Then she fell for Garrus Vakarian. Hard.
Then she was banished to Earth for six long months and lost all contact with both friends and her boyfriend.
Now, the Reapers had the galaxy under siege, and Shepard is tossed into the fight of her life on behalf of trillions of lives. Even so, the separation before the invasion had a greater impact on her than she ever could have anticipated. She felt closed off from so many that she had fought with, even loved, and it was eating away at her fortitude.
