Chapter Text
They’re in the cage—just the two of them. Sam’s meatsuit, his soul, and Lucifer have all, at varying intervals, left the cage, leaving Adam and Michael to rot.
First comes the realization that all they have is each other. This is not a pleasant realization for either of them; Adam still carries a substantial amount of resentment over the whole “I got possessed by an archangel who dragged me with him to hell” thing. And Adam is pretty sure that if Michael had to choose his forever-cellmate from the options of Adam or Lucifer, he’d choose Lucifer. He might be the devil, but he WAS once an angel, and Adam is just a squishy little human.
Some time passes, and then comes the agreement. By this point, it’s obvious to both of them that they’re going to be stuck here for the rest of forever. Any feelings of resentment (Adam) or superiority (Michael) are cold company in an even colder cage. So they agree to be civil to one another, or at least try.
After that…well, they have to pass the time somehow, right? Adam figures he might as well try to learn a little about his cellmate for the next eternity.
