Work Text:

Red Hood walked into the Justice League Watchtower. Looking around for Batman but keeping low to the ground just in case he ran into another hero. Even if that's what he was hoping for, he couldn't make it too obvious.

Doing this for a few minutes Jason knew he looked stupid and that he was pretty much going in circles but what was he meant to do stand still? pfft no.

Finally hearing noises coming from the meeting room, Jason stood up with a groan as his knees cracked underneath him. He walked into the room with a smirk on his face, even if they couldn't see it with his helmet on.

"Hello, ladies," Red Hood said.

Jason's eyes zoned onto Wonder Woman, "you are a goddess," he mumbled under his breath, kind of hoping that no one heard him.

Based on the confused look Superman gave him, he certainly did.

Jason pulled out his gun and fired it, not aiming at anything. That didn't seem to matter, they spring into action. Jason didn't fight as they took away his gun and pinned him to the ground. He just let it happen, all part of the plan.

Jason felt hands go around his wrists and couldn't help but wince. He had bruises around his wrists not from being grabbed by superman but from 2 days ago from some rope when some dumbass goons tried to grab him with rope. Jason was just hoping that they wouldn't notice that little detail.

Getting pulled up off the ground, Superman kept a good grip on him as he was taken to what Jason expected was where the holding cells were kept.

He was right.

Lined up against the wall were multiple cells. Each with a small bed and a toilet. Jason was pushed into the closest one, the cell door slamming on his face.

"Well, that's just mean," Jason pouted, even though they couldn't see it from his helmet.

"Why are you here?" Superman asked.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Jason sneered back.

"I say we just leave him here. Isn't he a villain towards Batman? That just automatically makes him stubborn," Flash pointed out.

Deciding that's for the best, the Justice League left Red Hood in the cell, while they went away.

Jason walked over and laid down on the bed. Now it was time to wait.

It was an hour later before Jason heard footsteps coming towards the holding cells, this time there was an extra set. Acting fast Jason pulled back the blanket and jumped into the bed, pulling the blanket back over him. Pulling his arms towards his chest and bending his knees a bit to make himself look smaller.

Hearing the footsteps stop in front of the cell, Jason slowed his breathing.

"What's the emergency that was so important you had to drag me here?" Batman asked.

"Look in the bed," Flash said, "Red Hood turned up at the watchtower."

Jason could feel eyes on him but he didn't move he had to wait for the perfect moment.

"Hrn."

There it was. That one little noise from Batman may have seemed like he was agreeing with Flash but really it was towards Jason. It was like Bruce was calling his kid.

Jason sat up, the blanket falling off his chest.

"Dad?" Jason asked, his voice thick with fake sleep.

Gasps filled the room.

Jason let out a yawn and went to rub his eyes when he felt the helmet. Letting out an upset whine, Jason ripped it off and threw it on the ground. His face was still covered up by a small black mask.

Jason got out of the bed in a hurry once he spotted Batman.

"Dad!" Jason cried.

He ran to the bars and reached his hand through. A silent beg for Batman to come closer.

Superman had the audacity to place an arm over Batman's chest to stop him from getting closer.

"Why is he calling you dad?" Green Arrow asked, "Red Hood isn't part of your family."

Jason pulled his hands to his chest.

"W-what? I'm not? Is it because the bat on my chest is red and not black? I can change it to black if that will make it better," Jason said, panicking.

Batman glared at Green Arrow and Jason had to fight back a smirk.

"You are still my son, Red Hood," Batman told him.

Jason breathed a sigh of relief.

"What happened here?" Batman growled out.

Before anyone could speak Jason spoke up.

He forced crocodile tears but to anyone else they looked real.

"They t-tried to k-kill me. Tried to take m-my helmet off that has e-explosives in it," the helmet didn't have them anymore but no one else knew that, "t-then Superman grabbed me and bruised m-my w-wrists."

Jason held out his bruised wrists for everyone to see.

"I didn't do that. That's clearly not from a hand. You can't even see the finger marks," Superman pointed out.

Jason wailed, "Dad! S-Superman is trying to gaslight me."

That's when an argument broke out. Justice League yelling at Red Hood and Red Hood crying and trying to yell back.

Batman had enough of it.

"SHUT UP!" He yelled, making everyone stop what they were doing.

He turned to Red Hood who had tears still sidling down his face.

"Why did you come here?" Batman asked.

"I-I wasn't having a g-good d-day. Just wanted a h-hug from you," Red Hood hiccupped.

Jason watched as Batman's face softened. Going from Batman to Bruce.

Opening the cell door and ignoring the protest from the other people Bruce pulled Jason into a hug.

"Shh. It's okay," Bruce said, partly rocking Jason, "why don't you go home. Hang out with your brothers and have some hot chocolate. I'll come home soon."

"Okay, dad," Jason said and then sniffed.

Grabbing his helmet, Jason walked back to the Zeta Tube. Once he was through he had a big smile on his face and no tears at all.

"How did I do?" Jason asked, as he walked over to his brothers who were watching Bruce trying to control the chaos Jason just created.

"Seems like you did a lot of damage," Tim pointed out.

"Good," Jason said, handing out his hand as Dick, Tim and Damian each put a bill on his palm.

"Tt. I can't believe they fell for that. You think they would have the knowledge to know everything about their fellow teammates," Damian grumbled.

"You're just shitty that you lost the bet," Jason said, as he counted his winnings.

"We were so stupid!" Dick complained, "we should have known you could create the most chaos at the watchtower."

"Never doubt me," Jason smirked.

Dick perked up, "you know Bruce did say you could hang out with us and get hot chocolate."

The hint was clear.

"Fine. But I get to pick the movie. I did all the hard work," Jason told them.

With chaos being created Jason's work was done and he could finally relax.

The end.
