"Like I said, she’s not sick.”
Sebastian turned to face her fully, and something about his expression sent a shiver down her spine. Over the past few weeks she had noticed the excited sparkle in his eyes that usually accompanied his academic adventures and research rabbit holes had changed. The look he gave her now burned in its intensity, no longer a sparkle but something…darker. Something akin to fear shot down her spine, but as she shivered under his gaze, she felt something else just as strongly. Anticipation. She could feel her nipples stiffen against the fabric of her blouse as his dark eyes met her own.
