He hit the shower on and shoved Lucy in, quickly following. The raw bones hovered around them, not willing or able to cross the running water but still leaving the room close to freezing. The cold spray was at least enough to knock Lucy out of her ghost lock.
“Thanks.” She blinked the fog from her eyes, water dripping down her face.
“‘Course Luce.” He grinned. “Don’t thank me yet, though. We still have this raw bones to deal with.”
“And now our bombs are all soggy.” Lucy frowned, Lockwood couldn’t help but follow the rivulets of water that traced the downward curve of her lips.
