Summary
Dream had always run hot and Nightmare had always run cold, but with the apples they both digested the hotness and coldness seemed to reach an all-time high. If there was too much positivity Dream would burn hotter than the sun, but if there was too much negativity Nightmare would run colder than outer space. They can't bring their temperature down if it's gone up unless they're both touching. It was easier as kids, but now as enemies, it's so much harder.
Or: Dream burns hotter than the sun and Nightmare runs colder than outer space, only touching each other can help, but they're enemies, they're not supposed to hug!
