JAMIE TARTT TRANSFER NEWS: AFC Richmond sign England striker on loan from Manchester City

Manchester native Tartt said he looks forward to being in London after the announcement he would be joining AFC Richmond on loan for the 2019-2020 season.

There is no option to buy included in the 23-year-old’s contract.

Tartt, a promising prospect snapped up by City last year, has not seen much game time under manager Pep Guardiola. At Richmond, he is sure to start in all matches and the loan will be seen as a huge win for Richmond boss Rupert Mannion, especially as his club has become a central point in his highly-publicized divorce proceedings.

“We are really pleased to bring a player of such quality to our team,” said Mannion.

While Tartt expressed excitement to train in London for the season, he made his hopes he’d back at Man City sooner rather than later clear. “Look, obviously Richmond needs me,” said Tartt following the announcement. “I mean, what don’t they need, honestly?”

NEW WAG ALERT: Jamie Tartt shows off girlfriend Keeley Jones during a late night out in London

Jamie Tartt scored big on Thursday night, but not on the pitch. The AFC Richmond star player was spotted snuggling up to model Keeley Jones at Luxx London.

Richmond might be on a losing streak, but that did not stop Tartt and some teammates from living large. Sources close to club management reported a bill upwards of two thousand pounds. Tartt and Jones were seen enjoying champagne and Luxx London’s signature “Everybody Wants Me” cocktail.

Tartt and Jones, along with Tartt’s teammates Isaac McAdoo, Colin Hughes, and Jeff Goodman, were said to have booked a private room, but could also be seen on the club's dance floor.

Sources say they have been spending time together since Tartt transferred to Richmond from Manchester City, but they have only recently declared their relationship as exclusive.

Just as it seemed George Cartrick had a season saver in Man City loaning AFC Richmond Jamie Tartt, the news came in: owner Rupert Mannion’s divorce had been finalized and ownership of the team would transfer officially to his now ex-wife, Rebecca Welton.

"You think me and Rupert are sitting around all day, gossiping about women? Like women?" said Cartrick when asked about his future at the club in his most recent press conference. “Be bloody serious! If he’s out as owner, he’s out, but he has had nothing but great things to say about the job I’ve been doing so far this season. And I trust that man to tell his wife—sorry, his ex-wife that the club would fall apart without me.”

Ms. Welton has not commented on any changes she plans to make as the new owner of AFC Richmond, but Sky Bet now has the odds of Cartrick’s sacking at 3/1.

To celebrate the end of a spicy season, the Greyhounds are putting their taste buds to the test with a challenge posed to them by their very own manager, Ted Lasso. Which of our boys can handle the heat and which should stay out of the kitchen? Let’s find out!

[TIMESTAMP 5:29 – Colin and Sam are sitting at one of the picnic tables outside of The Crown & Anchor. A plate of wings, three-fourths of the way finished, is in front of Sam. Another plate, only half finished, is in front of Colin. While Sam cheerfully goes for his second-to-last wing, Colin finishes a big gulp of water and appears to steel himself.

HUGHES: What’s this one called again?

LASSO (off-camera): The Roughhouse Reaper.

HUGHES: And it’s legal?

The answer is inaudible. Colin screws his eyes shut and takes a small nibble of the wing. Beside him, Sam is watching with a pinched, concerned expression. Immediately after he swallows, Colin’s eyes fly open and the wing tumbles out of his hands.

HUGHES: What—(cough) What is that—(cough)

Colin reaches out and knocks over his glass of water, completely soaking his plate of wings. He shoots up and dashes out of frame. Sam, still in shot, is struggling to hold it together.

BEARD (off-camera): Don’t touch your eyes! Don’t touch your—and he touched his eyes.]

In a Western Mail exclusive, we spoke to AFC Richmond left wing Colin Hughes, as well as his family, friends, and teammates, current and former.

When Colin Hughes was growing up in Rhiwbina, he had one dream: to one day don a Cardiff City F.C. shirt. Even nearly two decades on, Hughes can still hardly believe he played under the lights of Cardiff City Stadium.

“I swear my nan took me to every home match during the 2013-14 season,” shares Hughes in an exclusive interview with Western Mail. “I don’t know if anyone was happier to see Cardiff go up than her.”

It is a happiness Hughes shared when he was signed by Cardiff City as a fresh 18-year-old eager to prove himself. His hometown team had again found themselves promoted to the Premier League for the 2018-19 season and Hughes was thrilled to start his first game at home with his Nan in the crowd.

“I told her I could get her a comp, but she refused.”

“She didn’t even sit with us!” added Hughes’s mother. “She wanted her favorite section. Wouldn’t take anything better. When we went to pick her up after the match was over, she had promised her whole row a round of beers on the Hughes family, in honor of her grandson’s big night. Honest, I think that’s where Colin gets his generosity from. I certainly wouldn’t have gone promising anything!”

Generosity was a common tune sung by many of Colin’s coaches and teammates, current and former. “He has your back on and off the pitch, one-hundred percent,” says fellow wing and Richmond teammate, Sam Obisanya. “He wants the spotlight shone on everyone, not just himself.”

“Colin, he’s an alright lad, yeah,” says former teammate Jamie Tartt. “But that thing Obisanya said about the spotlight, could just be ‘cause Colin looks bad in it. Always thought he looked a bit jaundiced on the pitch. Like a jaundiced worm, really.”

Resemblance to a worm, jaundiced or otherwise, aside, Colin Hughes has been making a name for himself at AFC Richmond, a team on the receiving end of its fair share of press over the last half of the season between the hiring of American Ted Lasso and the contentious departure of teammate Tartt. How does Hughes deal with such upheavals?

"If I'm being honest, not always very well," he confessed. "Change is something I've been trying to get better at. You'd think moving from Cardiff to London when I was 19 would have been like a...culture shock, I guess, and helped me get over it. But really, I like being with my people. Lucky now I've got people in Wales and in London, and a lot of that is thanks to Ted."

How do you get over someone who was bad for you?

Pretty much exactly what it says. This guy treated me like crap. I don’t think he ever even liked me or knew I existed half the time. I also acted like a shit person whenever I was around him. Sometimes he didn’t even have to be around and I did shitty things just because I thought he’d find them funny when he heard. I’ve been getting better about not doing shitty things, but I still can’t stop thinking about this guy even though he’s pretty much completely out of my life now. I go to sleep thinking about him, wake up thinking about him. I hate it.

It feels like a concussion and trust me I would know. How do I stop that, guys?

This might not be what you want to hear, but the only thing that has ever really worked for me is time. Let yourself be sad you lost this person, even if they weren’t good for you in the long run. Also, given how badly they treated you, you’re allowed to feel hurt too. The more you let yourself feel your feelings now, the less you’ll feel them in the future and eventually you can move on with your life.

Hello again, lustful lads and ladies!

Is anyone else bummed? I’m a little bummed! I thought we would have at least another week or two with (allegedly) disgraced footballer Jamie Tartt and his obscenely short swim trunks. He could have kissed at least two more women in that hot tub of shame and proposed marriage. I wanted double proposals and to see Jamie try to keep both women from finding out!

Now, please excuse my basketball reference when recapping a British television program, but we have all loved dunking on Jamie Tartt these past five weeks. He seemed to tailor-make himself for ridicule, representing all the worst stereotypes and instincts of people who come onto shows like Love Island or Lust Conquers All. If I had a nickel for every Hawaiian shirt he wore, I would have anywhere from thirteen to fifteen nickels. And if I had a nickel taken away for every time he wore those Hawaiian shirts without buttoning a single button, I would have no nickels, which is fine because nickels are a useless currency anyway.

But underneath the faux tan and slick-backed hair, I believe we’re forgetting Jamie Tartt is a very talented football player. He is so talented that I, an American pop culture journalist, knew enough about him to be shocked to hear about his participation this season. There has been an undercurrent of sadness to Tartt’s involvement, potential going to waste in front of our eyes. As bummed as I am, I also can’t help but wonder if his exit may be for the best.

Days after it was confirmed Jamie Tartt was let go from Manchester City, AFC Richmond announces they have signed Tartt for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.

When reached for a comment, AFC Richmond’s Director of Football Operations, Leslie Higgins, said the organization is happy to have Jamie Tartt return to their ranks and further questions about what brought about his return will be answered at a later date. He did confirm Tartt is expected to start in Richmond’s next match.

In a shocking turn of events for Chelsea, Richmond, and the Premier League at large, Zava announced in the midst of a press conference, presumably to sign with Chelsea, that he would be playing for Richmond instead.

Supporting my co-worker, need advice

First time posting on here, so I don’t really know what I’m doing. My ex-girlfriend recommended I try it since she said I needed to stop bugging her. AFC Richmond stars Colin Hughes and Jamie Tartt are rivals instead of teammates this week as they square off in a special Dogtrack bake off!

Hosted by fellow teammate and local restaurant owner, Sam Obisanya, Colin and Jamie battle it out to see whose (spooky!) culinary exploits come out on top. Pupils from Richmond Primary School also got in on the action, assisting Sam in the judging of their spooky gingerbread creations.

[TIMESTAMP 10:34 – Colin and Jamie, in icing-covered aprons, are on an industrial kitchen set. The camera cuts to a panel of three child judges sitting at a table with Sam standing behind them. On the table are two “haunted” gingerbread “houses.” The one on the left is a replica of Nelson Road Stadium, done up in icing cobwebs and filled with spooky spectators. The one on the right is a lopsided house missing one section of the roof. It is drenched in blood-red icing and not much else.

OBISANYA: Do you want to guess whose is whose?

The first child, a young boy, immediately points from the blood-drenched half-house to Jamie, whose apron is red-stained like he had been working at a butcher’s shop instead of in a bakery.

TARTT: Alright, alright, I’m good at football, right. Nobody said anything about having to be good at baking.

HUGHES: Should they be eating yours? I think that might kill them.

As Colin nervously glances off camera to confirm, Jamie elbows him in the ribs. The scene quickly devolves into Jamie chasing Colin around the industrial island with a bag of leftover flour. The children can be heard screaming happily, egging on the fight, in the background.

HUGHES: It’s not my fault you're a poisoner!

The video jumpcuts abruptly to Colin and Jamie back standing in front of the island, looking chastened. Colin’s hair is almost completely white owing to the flour. Jamie’s head is ducked, clearly holding off a fit of laughter. Colin looks at him, his lips tugging into a smile. “Dick,” he can be seen mouthing. Jamie, beaming back at him, mouths, “Worm.” Colin sticks his tongue out, but grins.]
