Work Text:
It started like this, Harry wasn’t supposed to piss off that entire other pack of werewolves on a full moon.
He didn’t mean to. In fact, it was an accident that he had wandered off into their territory in the first place. Things happened, and it ended up with him fighting off a pack of seven werewolves in the dead of the night.
He didn’t come out unscathed either. He was severely injured by the time he managed to slip away from them. Fortunately enough, he was still alive enough to flee out of the woods and to the seaside nearby.
Once he made sure he had completely escaped their sights, Harry collapsed onto the sand, letting the cold waves crash against his legs. He let out a disgruntled and pained sound, lifting up his blood-soaked shirt.
He sighed when he saw the state of it. Absolutely ripped open at the sides.
“There goes my favourite bloody shirt,” he muttered to himself, dropping his hands to his sides and looking up at the sky above him, heaving an exasperated breath.
At the end of the skyline, the sun was already about to rise. He hadn’t realised he had been fighting and running for an entire night. That was a true testament to how protective werewolves were of their own territory. Harry didn’t blame them, but they could have given him a little break during the fights. That would have been nicer of them, if he was being honest.
He lifted his hand aloft, his chest undulating calmly as his claws finally retracted. The full moon was over.
Harry braced himself up on his elbows, looking back at his wounds, which had already healed by now, and breathed out a sigh of relief. It wasn’t too big of a wound, and Harry was always a fast healer—thank fuck.
He sat up on the sand, the cool waves crashing against his hands as he looked out at the ocean in front of him. It was pretty. Harry hadn’t been to the beach in a while. Mainly because he was busy with work. And the beach was always filled with mermaids.
It wasn’t as if mermaids could eat him or anything. He just fucking hated mermaids.
Mermaids, with their shiny, glimmering tails and their enchanting voices. They didn’t eat people, no, those would be sirens, who also lived here. Harry also wasn’t very fond of sirens.
It was a werewolf thing, he supposed. Mermaids were the worst of all supernatural kinds. With their cold, heartless demeanour and their giant ego, they didn’t care about a single thing. They thought they could have anything they wanted. Anyone they wanted with just their beauty and a few enchanting songs. Their unbothered attitude irked him, as they always stumbled into werewolves’ territories without a care, thinking they always got away with it.
Most of the time, they did. They were even more annoying than vampires at times. Harry hated that.
Hence, it was why he refrained from going to the beach. Nothing was worse than bumping into a mermaid while he was trying to enjoy swimming in the ocean. Besides, he had a pool at his house, which really made things more convenient.
He scrunched up his nose when he noticed a faint new scent around him. He straightened his back and turned his head, his shoulders relaxing as he noticed someone emerging from the woods.
Someone beautiful.
Harry’s mouth went dry at the sight, and he couldn’t stop staring as the guy—probably his age—walked towards the beach just a few feet away from him. He didn’t notice Harry, but there was no way he wouldn’t notice the other guy.
He was divine.
His long blond hair was tied up in a ponytail. He was dressed in a dark turtleneck and black pants. His body was slim and elegant. Even his footsteps were graceful.
When the sunlight hit his skin, it highlighted every single feature on his face. From his prominent cheekbones and sharp jawline to his glimmering eyes. Harry’s heart nearly skipped a beat.
The moment his hand came up to his hair and tugged at the black ribbon that was holding his hair up, Harry let out a breath, mesmerised by his long hair falling down to the middle of his back.
“I wasn’t aware there would be anyone here at this hour,” Harry said without thinking, and the guy turned to him, his head tilted to the side.
“I could say the same thing,” he said. His voice was gentle, with a hint of indifference.
“Are you going for a swim?”
The corners of his plush lips curled up. Harry really wanted to kiss him.
“You can say so.”
He pushed up to his feet, approaching the guy with not an ounce of hesitation in him. He stopped next to him and said, “You should really get a pool.”
“How come?”
“This ocean is filled with mermaids,” Harry said. “They can drag you down with you. Just for fun, you know.”
“I can protect myself,” the guy said, his eyes raking down Harry’s body. “Though it didn’t seem like you could.”
“Oh, this?” He gestured over his chest. “That was not with mermaids. No. It’s with werewolves.”
“You managed to escape, I see,” he said, tugging his turtleneck over his head. Harry forced himself to tear his eyes away from the guy’s body. “Lucky you.”
“Lucky me. If I hadn’t escaped, I wouldn’t have met you,” Harry said, drawing out a soft chuckle from the blond. “Come on, that was smooth, right?”
The guy kicked his shoes away, unbuckling his belt. He said, “You have the flirting capability of a werewolf.”
Harry laughed. “Then you won’t believe what I’m about to say.”
“I see,” the guy said, his eyes narrowing down on Harry. He pursed his kissable lips. “I guess I should have known. Werewolves are always so blunt.”
“Is that so bad?” Harry said, tilting his head to the side to catch his eyes. Grey. His eyes were grey. Like the sky before a storm. “Is it so bad that my flirting was that blatant?”
His lips curled up. “I suppose not.”
“Is it so bad that I think you’re beautiful?”
“Of course not. Everyone thinks I’m beautiful.”
Harry grinned, taking a step closer as they faced each other. “Is it so bad that I want to kiss you?”
“Oh, now you’re being too blunt, Mr. Werewolf,” he said, his long eyelashes fluttering seductively every time he blinked.
“Harry Potter. You can call me Harry.”
“Harry Potter. I’ve heard about you.”
“Yeah? Does it mean I can know your name now?”
The guy chuckled, turning away and stripping his jeans off him entirely.
“Werewolves always get to the point, don’t they?”
“You say it like it’s a bad thing,” Harry said, keeping his eyes on the blond’s face. “At least we aren’t mermaids.”
“What about mermaids?”
“They’re too cunning.”
“Now you say it like it’s a bad thing.”
“Not necessarily. I just prefer being honest.”
“Sure you do,” the guy said, standing in only a pair of black boxers. Harry’s hands itched to touch him. He looked up at Harry, a smile ghosting over his lips. “Draco Malfoy. My name.”
“Draco,” Harry said. “Shit, that’s a beautiful name.”
Draco chuckled softly, rolling his eyes to hide the faint blush on his cheeks.
“Still being honest, I see.”
“I always am.” He shoved his hands in his pockets, glancing at the ocean, before he met Draco’s bright eyes again. “You know, instead of going for a swim, I do have a pool at my house if you want to come to my place instead.”
“That’s very bold of you, Harry.”
“It’s certainly safer than swimming in the ocean with a bunch of mermaids.”
“It appears so, but do you know what?” Draco said. “I actually enjoy swimming here more.”
“Seriously?”
“Yes. I’d invite you to swim with me, but it seems like you wouldn’t want to swim with mermaids.”
Harry laughed and nodded. “Yeah, I’d rather not. I fucking hate mermaids.”
“What a shame,” Draco said, taking a few steps towards the waves. “Are they truly that bad?”
“They really are. You will be surprised at how devious they are and how they’re always willing to trick you—”
Harry trailed off, his words dissolving in his mind as he watched Draco bolt away in front of him. He jumped into the ocean, diving directly into the cold water. Something flashed underneath, and Harry flinched when a shiny mermaid tail splattered water at him.
He stepped back, his mouth parted in utter shock, when Draco emerged from the water, his hair pushed back behind him. He had a wide, smug smile on his face.
“You better close your mouth, Mr. Werewolf. Don’t look so shocked,” Draco said. His skin was now glittering brightly in the sunlight.
Harry blinked and uttered the protest weakly, “You…you tricked me.”
“It isn’t my fault you assumed things about me, is it?” He gave Harry a wink. “Better get back to your territory now, Potter. You wouldn’t want to be fooled by another mermaid again around here.”
He immersed himself back underwater, and Harry watched him swim away until he couldn’t see him anymore. He stood there, dumbfounded, still trying to process everything that had happened.
He flirted with a mermaid!
*
Harry paced around the couch and clutched his phone tightly in his hand, his jaw clenching tightly as he reminisced about how Draco had purposefully fooled him. Just like that. Like the cunning mermaid he was.
It had been weeks. Three weeks since that fight with the other werewolf pack. Three weeks since he met Draco. And three weeks since he was blatantly tricked by a mermaid.
And yet, he had not been able to forget about him. Despite what Draco did, Harry couldn’t stop thinking about the certain blond whose voice had enamoured him deeply. He was beautifully divine, so was it really Harry’s fault if he found himself perfectly lured by the mermaid after expressing how much he hated their kind?
“Bloody hell, Harry. You have got to stop pacing, you’re making me want to hurl right here,” Ron groaned, burying his face in his hands as he drew his legs up to his chest on the couch.
“Sorry,” he muttered, coming to a stop in front of Ron. “Sorry, I just—I can’t—”
“Stop thinking about the mermaid. Yeah, I know, mate. You’ve established that many, many times.”
“Did I talk about him that much?”
“Just enough to make my ears bleed for the past three weeks.” Ron gave him a defeated smile as he dropped his hands on the couch. “So he fooled you, big deal.”
“It’s not just that, Ron.”
“And you’re into him.”
“I’m not.”
Ron sputtered out a laugh, nodding his head. “Yeah, sure, mate. I’ll try to believe that.”
“I don’t! I don’t like him! I just can’t forget about him.”
“Which is basically the same thing.”
“It’s not.”
“Then tell me why you’ve been waiting for him to resurface on the land so you can talk to him again?” Ron raised an eyebrow with his arms folded over his chest. “Because you miss him.”
“I do not miss—”
“You miss him.”
Harry let out a frustrated noise, but before he came up with another protest for his best friend, who was supposed to be on his side, the door was open.
When Ginny strutted into the house with a brown bag in her hand and a bagel in her mouth, Harry took a step forward.
“Any news?”
“Yeah,” Ginny said tiredly, taking a bite of her bagel. “He’s on land. You’re welcome.”
“Okay, good. Thank you.”
“You really ought to do something about this, Harry.”
“What do you mean?”
“Telling your pack to go stalk your favourite mermaid? Seems a tad too much, Harry,” she said, as his jaw went slack at the blatant accusation. “Just sleep with him and get it over with.”
“I do not—I’m not into him, Gin!”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll pretend to believe you.” She snorted at the same time her brother did. “Anyway, I asked a mermaid. Draco’s best friend. She said he always goes to the market near your place when he goes up on land. It’s the one right here—”
“Ron, do you want to go to a market?” Harry said, and Ginny rolled her eyes before she strolled into the kitchen.
“To see you fuck your mermaid? No, thanks, Harry,” Ron said, pushing up to his feet and adjusting his jacket. “Besides, I can’t. I have a date with a vampire.”
He smiled at Harry, patting his shoulders. “You can do this, Harry. Just sleep with him like you always do.”
“I don’t always sleep with people—”
Ron guffawed. “Sure, mate. Maybe it will be different this time, because nobody has ever rejected you before.”
“He did not reject me.”
“He practically splashed water on your face.”
“He was being an arse!”
“Yeah, you just hate him because he’s the arse you can’t get.” He cackled, and Harry rolled his eyes at his best friend. “You haven’t been able to forget about him, which is something you’ve never felt about anyone else. It’s different. You can admit it.”
“I can’t stop thinking about him because he’s a mermaid, that’s what he does. He lures people in, Ron.”
“I don’t think a mermaid’s charm lasts that long, Harry. I’m pretty sure mermaids can’t put wet dreams in your head, either.”
Harry stared at him, taking a deep breath before he said, “I don’t like him.”
“Bloody hell, us werewolves are really bad at lying, huh?” He let out a laugh and smacked Harry’s arms again. “I have to go. See you tomorrow, Harry. Hopefully, you will have resolved your unresolved sexual tension with Draco by then. And by that, I mean I better not walk in on you fucking that mermaid all over this place tomorrow morning.”
“I don’t—fuck it, just go,” Harry said, and Ron laughed again, disappearing through the front door of the house.
He stood in the empty living room and clenched his teeth, looking out the window. He could see the street market right outside of his house, where most of the supernatural creatures visited every morning. He didn’t know Draco went there either.
When he spotted the familiar blond head of hair, Harry rushed to the window and flattened his hand on the glass, staring with wide eyes as he watched Draco converse with a lady who sold charms and amulets.
Draco was right there. Right in front of him. Harry could go talk to him again.
Except that he shouldn’t. And he didn’t have to. There was no reason for him to come up to the mermaid again after he had outrightly rejected Harry like that.
Well, he didn’t exactly reject him, but Harry did tell him he hated mermaids.
He flopped back on the couch and narrowed his eyes, balling his hands into fists. He didn’t have to go out there and see Draco for the second time.
If he didn’t, he would miss the chance to meet him again.
But he didn’t have to meet Draco again, Harry reminded himself. He could just stay right here and prove to his pack members that they were, indeed, very wrong about him and his feelings for the certain mermaid. He did not like him, and he didn’t have this insatiable need to talk to him.
Tapping his fingers on his knee, Harry took another look at the market through his window to catch a glimpse of the beautiful mermaid. He walked away from the scarf lady, coming to a stop in front of a werewolf, and Harry straightened his back.
It was the same werewolf from another pack that had attacked Harry three weeks ago. He was the one to dig his claws into Harry’s arm during the fight.
His stomach coiled with displeasure as he watched Draco talk to that werewolf. Apparently, he didn’t have a problem talking to werewolves, it was Harry who had a problem with his kind instead.
A low grumble left his throat unconsciously as the werewolf had the audacity to touch Draco by the arm, sliding his hand down to his elbow with a smile.
Harry rose to his feet and stilled.
“No,” he said, sitting back down on the couch as he scratched the nape of his neck.
His pack was wrong about this. If there were any feelings he harboured towards Draco, it would be hate and nothing but hate.
He wasn’t feeling jealous over the fact that another werewolf was flirting with him. Of course he would. Draco was beautiful. And he was a mermaid.
There was absolutely, without a doubt, no need for Harry to approach Draco and break him away from the werewolf because he didn’t like what he was seeing.
He didn’t have to do that.
Harry stood up and headed to the front door.
He left the house in a haste, passing the people in the market to search for the golden head of hair in the crowd. He came to a stop when he heard the mermaid’s voice nearby. Followed by a charming little laugh.
Once he followed the source of his voice, Harry stopped in his tracks and took a second to reel himself back into reality.
He had almost forgotten how beautiful Draco actually was. His hair was braided loosely behind his back with a black bow. Under his long overcoat was a white poet shirt, with intricate frills running down the opening slit that revealed the smooth skin of his chest and the necklace that all mermaids wore when they were on land.
In front of him stood the Alpha from the other pack. He had Draco cornered against the wall of an alley nearby, both of them talking closely together as though they were the only two people here.
Draco chuckled at something he said, his arms folded over his chest. Maybe he wasn’t even that interested in the werewolf.
Before he knew it, he was marching towards them. A low growl rumbled in his chest when the other werewolf reached out to play with the bow on Draco’s hair.
“Hey,” Harry said, stopping short in front of them and surprising the mermaid as he turned to look at him.
“Potter.”
“McLaggen,” he replied, shoulders squaring up as he faced the werewolf. “I think you know better to get in my territory, don’t you?”
“Well, it’d serve you right for the last time you got in ours.” Cormac flashed him a smile. “Besides, it’s a market. Are you truly going to forbid me from going here?”
“Actually, yeah. I can truly do that.”
Cormac narrowed his eyes on him, then turned to look at Draco. “Shall we go somewhere else to continue our conversation?”
“He doesn’t have to leave my territory, you do,” Harry intervened before Draco could answer.
“And here I thought the famous Alpha of the pack, Harry Potter, has always harboured a dislike of mermaids.” Cormac smirked at him slyly. “Did you finally fuck a mermaid?”
“One can change his mind,” Harry said, “without fucking a mermaid.”
“Oh, I see. You want to fuck Malfoy here,” Cormac said. “Well, you should know something. Mermaids are easy to fuck, too, including this one.”
“What did you say?” Harry stepped forward, and the grin on Cormac’s lips widened.
“Trying to protect mermaids now? Is Malfoy’s hole that precious to you, Potter?” Cormac raised both brows and added, “You know, he’s not even that pretty, and I bet his hole is loose from being fucked by every other creature around here too.”
When Harry grabbed Cormac by the collars of his jacket and shoved him to the walls of the alley, there was not a single thought that crossed his mind. He bared his fangs. Cormac bared his fangs back, his chest puffing up in defence.
“God, werewolves are so bloody dramatic,” Draco said from behind.
Harry craned his head when a hand was placed on his shoulder. Draco was looking at him with a deadpan expression on his face.
“Let go of him.”
“He just said—”
“I know what he just said,” Draco replied, squeezing Harry’s shoulder to tug him away. “And I want you to let go of him. We need to talk, Potter. Now.”
He clenched his jaw, but when Draco tilted his head and fluttered his eyelashes at him, he wondered if the necklace on him was actually stopping Draco from exuding his charms or not, because Harry found himself listening regardless.
Harry withdrew his hands from Cormac’s jacket, and Draco’s hand slid down from his shoulder blade to his wrist, dragging him away. A smile appeared on his lips as he followed the mermaid back into the market. He didn’t forget to give Cormac a warning look over his shoulder.
Once they reached a small stand in the market where a nice old witch sold magical and non-magical gloves, Draco dropped his arm, and Harry frowned.
“Are you going to buy these?” Harry asked, as the mermaid picked up a pair of maroon leather gloves from the table in front of them.
“I might,” Draco answered without meeting his eyes. “Now, are you going to tell me why you’ve been following me?”
“I haven’t been following you.”
A chuckle. “Please. Your pack is not really that subtle, Harry. One of them actually asked Pansy about me.”
“They were following you, not me.”
“You followed me here, didn’t you?”
“Don’t think so highly of yourself. My house is right over there.” He gestured over his shoulder. “I just…happened to see you here with McLaggen, that’s all.”
“And you decided to intervene in a nice conversation I was having?”
“He was in my territory,” Harry said, clearing his throat as Draco tried on the gloves. “But, er, were you really going to—”
“Let him fuck me? Yes,” Draco said, and something unnerving settled in Harry’s stomach. The mermaid smiled, grey eyes flitting up to meet Harry’s gaze. “Werewolves do have the reputation of pleasing their lovers the best around here.”
His eyes raked down Harry’s body, and he placed the pair of gloves back in their rightful place before he strutted to the next stall. Harry followed him without thinking.
“Am I supposed to believe that you came into my territory to find another werewolf from another pack to fuck you?”
“Well, I certainly wasn’t going to find you,” Draco said, picking up a silver bracelet with a shiny emerald stone in the middle.
“Ouch.” Harry laughed, feigning a hurt expression as he placed his hand on his chest. “That hurts quite a lot, you know. Because I wouldn’t mind it if you came to find me at all.”
“Oh?” The mermaid curled his lips up in a smile. “And here I thought you hated mermaids.”
“I did. I mean, I used to. Not anymore, I guess.”
“What changed your mind?”
You. The answer flashed across Harry’s mind without hesitation, but he refrained from saying it. Instead, he blurted out something completely different. And it was probably a stupid idea to say it. It was most definitely a stupid idea to say it.
“You aren’t allowed to be here either, you know. It’s werewolf territory.”
“Oh, here comes that speech again,” Draco said, dropping the bracelet back into the pile of jewellery. “Do you happen to have a problem with mermaids?”
“I actually sort of have a problem with just you.”
“With me?” Another sly smile. “I didn’t know werewolves could hold a grudge.”
“I guess I do,” Harry said. “What you did that time was foul. You fooled me.”
Draco huffed out a breathy laugh and said, “Are we still on about that?”
“Yes!”
“Listen, darling,” he said softly, flattening his hand on Harry’s sternum. The mere action got the werewolf to puff his chest up proudly. Draco’s eyes gleamed knowingly at it. “It was not my fault you thought I was a simple human being. That was plainly you being an idiot, like all werewolves are.”
Draco withdrew his hand and walked away in front of Harry, leaving him dumbfounded on the ground. Not only had he managed to fool Harry the first time, he had also insulted him and left Harry like a frozen statue once more. Fucking mermaids.
His feet were working before his mind did, and Harry chased after Draco, following him into an alley nearby before he disappeared completely. He wasn’t going to let Draco slip away from him again.
“Hey,” he called, but Draco acted as if he didn’t hear him at all, which only irked him further. “Hey, stop walking!”
He grabbed Draco by the wrist, whirling him around and shoving him against the damp wall of the alley. Draco didn’t flinch in the slightest. In fact, he held his chin high. Confident.
“I asked you to stop walking.”
“And I chose not to listen,” Draco replied bluntly. “You said I was in your territory. Won’t it be better if I leave?”
“You can’t just leave after insulting me.”
“Pray tell, how should I have left?” He raised both brows, inquiring. “Should I have stayed to see you beg for me to let you fuck me?”
Harry chuckled, pinning Draco’s hand on the wall as he said, “Who said I wanted to fuck you?”
“I’m sorry, perhaps I’ve misunderstood from our first encounter,” he said. “I believe someone wanted to invite me back to his house.”
“That was before I knew you were a mermaid.”
“Oh, please.” He clicked his tongue, putting on a smirk that annoyed Harry even more. “You want me so much, darling. If you want to fuck me, just say it.”
Harry bared his fangs, leaning closer as he hissed, “I don’t want to fuck you. I’m not fucking a mermaid.”
“Oh, but you want it so badly, don’t you?”
“Shut up.”
“And here I thought werewolves were all about being honest.”
He gritted his teeth, tightening his grasp around Draco’s wrist, but the mermaid never even grimaced in the slightest. If anything, he seemed more enthused by it.
“I don’t want to fuck you, so you can bring yourself and your inflated mermaid ego back to the ocean, where you belong.”
“Then you can unhand me and let me go,” Draco said, cocking his head to the side. “But you can’t even do that, can you? You want me.”
“I don’t want you.”
“You are as bad a liar as a goblin.” He laughed; his voice was soft, and yet somehow, it vexed Harry further.
“You mermaids think you know everything.”
“And we do.”
“You think I really want to fuck you?” He shifted closer, their faces were barely a few inches apart. “Even after I found out who you are?”
Another laugh, and Draco put his free hand on Harry’s chest, sliding it down his abdomen as the werewolf’s gaze followed his movement. When he hooked his finger over his belt, Harry took his wrist and pinned his hand on the wall.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“Proving a point.”
“And the point is that I want to fuck you?”
“Isn’t that clear already?” Draco asked, his lips turning up slyly. “If you want to fuck me, just do it. If not, I can go find someone else. Are there any cute, available werewolves in your pack?”
Harry growled low at his question, which only made Draco’s smirk widen with victory. “Jealous?”
“I’m not jealous.”
The mermaid simply leaned forward, tipping his chin up arrogantly as his eyes gleamed. “Werewolves are truly bad at lying, aren’t they?”
“Shut up.”
His lips curled upward. Smug. “Or what?” he said. “If you want me to shut my mouth, you’ll have to make me.”
He clenched his hands around Draco’s wrists, tracing his gaze over Draco’s features, only to encounter the confidence that radiated all over his face. Fucking mermaids.
When his eyes fell to Draco’s lips, something uncoiled in his stomach, and he realised that his pack might have been right. And so was Draco.
He leaned closer, his lips were barely an inch away from Draco’s. Grey eyes bore into his, waiting patiently in silence. His eyebrows raised in a challenge, and Draco didn’t make any moves to stop him. So, Harry did the thing he had wanted to do since they first met.
He kissed Draco.
Their lips met rather softer than he had expected, slotting together perfectly. He loosened his grips around Draco’s wrist, nipping and teasing Draco’s lower lip before he pulled away.
“You annoy the shit out of me,” he hissed, and Draco smiled against his lips.
“You enjoy it.”
Harry grunted under his breath, claiming Draco’s mouth again. Their bodies were flushed together, and with every little gasp Draco let out, Harry kissed him deeper, consuming all the pretty noises he made. Kissing Draco sparked a fire in his stomach that he couldn’t put out. It was fervent, different from what he had experienced before. It was addictive.
He dropped Draco’s wrists and slipped his hands down to grip the mermaid by the waist, licking into his mouth and dragging a soft moan from him. He smiled against his lips when Draco threw his arms around his neck and arched into him.
“You seem to be enjoying this too,” he murmured.
“Be quiet and kiss me,” Draco said, running his fingers into his hair and pulling Harry closer for another kiss, acting as though he couldn’t have enough.
He carded his fingers into Harry’s hair, tugging at it until the werewolf growled low into his mouth. Draco merely smiled at it, basking in it, even, and parting his mouth to let Harry deepen the kiss. Their tongues glided against each other, fervent with heat, and it took all the strength in Harry to keep himself from fucking Draco right here in this alley with everyone outside.
Draco moaned into the kiss, and what a heavenly sound it was. He pulled away briefly, smiling against the mermaid’s lips.
“You want me to fuck you.”
“And what if I do?” Draco murmured softly. “You hate mermaids, don’t you?”
“I used to. I’ve told you that,” Harry said. “Changed my mind.”
“Because you want to fuck me?”
“Well, that’s enough of a reason, don’t you think?” he said. “Don’t you want me to fuck you?”
“Perhaps,” Draco said, his lips curling upward.
He looked at Draco, kissing him for a brief moment before he tore himself away again. He grabbed Draco’s hand and dragged him out of the alley.
“What—where are we going?” Draco asked, stumbling after him.
“Where else?”
The walk back home seemed longer than usual, and by the time he managed to open his door and pull Draco inside, they were on each other again.
He pressed Draco against the wall of the foyer, pushing Draco’s jacket off his shoulders and letting it fall to the ground without breaking off the kiss. Draco drew his leg up against his side, and Harry hoisted him up easily in his arms, carrying him into the living room and dropping him on the couch with a soft thump.
“Do you really want to be known as the werewolf who fucked his mortal enemy?” Draco said, almost like a warning, which made Harry smile as he towered over him.
“My best friend is sleeping with a vampire,” Harry said, caging Draco beneath him with his hands on either side of the mermaid’s head. “One of my friends is married to a fairy, and another friend is actually dating a siren. I think us fucking would be the least scandalous of all.”
He pressed his lips against Draco’s neck, mouthing on his pulse point and sucking new bruises on his porcelain skin. Draco arched up into him, running his hands down his flanks and unbuttoning his shirt with nimble fingers.
“Don’t you hate me?”
Harry lifted his head to meet the grey, piercing eyes. There was a hint of uncertainty there, like he was genuinely concerned.
“I thought I did,” he said, tracing his fingers against Draco’s sharp jawline. “I wanted to.”
Both eyebrows were raised. “But?”
“But I want you more than how much I want to hate you,” Harry admitted, brushing his fingertip over Draco’s lips. “I want to touch you like this more.”
He leaned closer and pressed a kiss to the corner of his lips. “I want to kiss you more,” he murmured. “And I don’t want you fucking another werewolf. Really, all the math just adds up.”
Draco’s lips curled upward. Amused. “People weren’t wrong when they said werewolves were painfully honest, were they?”
“Is it a bad thing?”
“Not particularly,” Draco said. “Tell me more, and I might let you fuck me.”
Harry grinned, fangs showing, and he ducked his head to kiss his way along Draco’s neck, nuzzling up into his golden hair and nipping at the shell of his ear.
“You’re so beautiful.”
“Not the first time I’ve heard it. Do better.”
He chuckled and said, “I think you’ll look even more beautiful after I fuck you.”
Draco let out a shuddering breath, sliding his hands into Harry’s skin once he finished unbuttoning his shirt.
“Cocky, aren’t you?”
“Confident.” He smiled, kissing the spot beneath his ear. “Don’t you think so?”
“You’ll ought to show me that, I’m afraid.”
With his words of encouragement, it only enticed Harry further to have his ways with Draco. He unlaced the strings of Draco’s shirt, cursing under his breath as he struggled to just open his shirt up. He opted for a much quicker method to strip him instead.
Draco gasped when Harry tore his shirt open in half, staring up at him with wide eyes.
“Do werewolves’ lovers always have to get new clothes because they could never keep their clothes intact?”
“So you’re my lover now?” Harry asked, and he knew he was grinning, because Draco rolled his eyes before he tugged Harry down by the collar of his shirt.
“I never said that,” he said defensively.
Harry smiled, sliding his hands up Draco’s flanks and feeling his delicate skin under his fingertips. It was cold, and Draco shivered as he brushed his thumb over his nipple. He ghosted his breath over Draco’s lips, his smile widening when the mermaid tilted his head up to catch his lips in a kiss. He frowned when Harry pulled away.
“Don’t be a wanker now,” Draco said, clutching his fingers in Harry’s opened shirt. “If you don’t fuck me now, I swear I’ll find someone else in your pack to fuck—”
Their lips met again in a haze, drawing out a soft and pleased hum from the blond. Harry licked into his mouth, deepening the kiss and finding himself roaming his hands all over Draco’s body as though he couldn’t get enough.
He undid Draco’s belt carefully this time, tugging his trousers down as Draco wiggled out of them in a haste. Harry fumbled for the bottle of lube from under the couch—just something he stored there in cases like this—while Draco kicked his trousers to the carpeted floor.
“Holy shit,” Harry murmured under his breath, glancing down at Draco’s lower body, swallowing dryly around nothing as he gawked at the lace knickers. “You’re—”
“Yes?”
“Do you wear this a lot?”
“When I expect sex, yes,” he said, which irked Harry a bit at the thought of Draco letting someone else fuck him. Another werewolf. “You look like you came prepared, too.”
He looked at the bottle of lube in Harry’s hand, and the werewolf grinned. “It’s not that frequent, I promise.”
“Already making promises. Do you think we will fuck more than once?”
“We won’t?”
A smile slowly crept up Draco’s lips, and Harry claimed his mouth swiftly, running his hand down to cup the visible bulge tenting beneath the white lace. He groaned into Draco’s mouth, stroking the outline of Draco’s cock while his own was still trapped in his trousers.
“You can rip this one apart,” Draco whispered. An invitation. No, a challenge. As if he thought Harry was afraid of ruining more of his clothes.
Who was Harry to deny him such a dare? He smiled, claws ripping through the thin lace material, and Draco breathed hotly against his mouth. A soft noise emitted from his throat. Pleased.
He slid his hand between Draco’s thighs, pressing his lubed fingers against his entrance, nudging in as he mouthed on the blond’s sternum. Draco threw his arms around his neck, digging his blunt nails into his back as he took Harry’s finger deeper inside him.
“Oh, fuck—” Draco gasped audibly, his entrance clenching tightly around him, his hands clawing on Harry as though he were begging for more. “Harry.”
He peppered kisses on his chest, closing his mouth around Draco’s nipple and adding the second finger inside him, stretching Draco open and drawing out more of those beautiful sounds from his throat.
Months ago, Harry despised mermaids, their songs, and their voices. Now, he was longing to listen to Draco’s voice in particular, and he was willing to do anything to hear more of it.
He curled his fingers upward, smiling against Draco’s chest, when the blond let out a choked moan. He drew his legs up and rubbed his knees against Harry’s sides, a wordless encouragement for him to keep going.
His fingers were in Harry’s hair, tugging tightly, but he refused to let Harry pull away even for a second. Every inch of Draco’s body was sublime, and to be able to touch him and explore him this way made Harry feel special. Because Draco wanted him just as much. Because Draco wanted Harry to fuck him.
The third finger made Draco keen, his head thrown back on the couch as his body curved up like a pretty bow. He brushed his fingertips against the spot he had just found, drawing out more sounds from Draco that made his cock strain against his trousers.
“You sound beautiful,” Harry said against his chest, switching to the other side and flattening his tongue over Draco’s peaked bud. Draco moaned. “God, you’re perfect.”
“That’s no news, darling.”
Draco huffed out a breathy chuckle, and Harry lifted his head from his chest to smile at him. The blond tugged him down with a hand on his nape and kissed him, his mouth falling slack when Harry rubbed his fingers against his sweet nerves persistently.
“Ah—there,” Draco said weakly. “Don’t stop, god, don’t ever stop!”
His words were pleading, tugging at Harry’s heart, and all he wanted to do was rouse Draco up even more. He trailed his kisses down Draco’s body, exploring Draco’s inner walls and taking in his cock entirely in his mouth.
“Harry!” he cried out, nearly bucking up into Harry’s mouth. “Oh, god—”
He hollowed his cheeks and pressed his fingers deeper inside Draco. Based on the dishevelled look on his face, Draco was revelling in it, writhing on the couch of Harry’s house. It struck him right there that Draco was here. On his couch. Letting Harry have his way with him. It almost felt like one of Harry’s recent dreams was coming true.
He tongued the underside of his cock, sucking around the head, and Draco whined underneath him, clutching at the couch like he couldn’t steady himself.
Harry pulled away swiftly, planting kisses on his navel and ducking his head lower. He dragged his fingers out of Draco, and when he pushed his tongue past the still tight entrance, Draco let out the most delicious noise, echoing in the house.
“Fuck—ah, please, Harry!”
He carded his fingers in Harry’s hair, and for a second, he thought Draco was pulling him away. Instead, he was keeping Harry there. He smiled and pressed in deeper.
“God, I never knew werewolves were this good with their tongues.” Draco gasped audibly, his thighs shaking on either side of Harry’s head. “Harry—Harry, don’t stop!”
Even the way he said Harry’s name was beautiful. Wanton and a little helpless. He wrapped his hand around Draco’s cock and stroked. The blond cried out louder, bucking up into his closed fist. Everything he did was to make Draco a babbling mess. Until all he could say was Harry’s name.
He grazed his thumb over the slit of Draco’s cock, tongue pressing against Draco’s inner walls, and when the blond curled up and wrapped his thighs next to his head, he let out a strangled noise as he came. Harry didn’t stop rubbing his insides, and Draco didn’t stop trembling beneath him, his thighs dropping flat on the couch.
Harry readily pulled away and let Draco breathe. He crawled on top of Draco’s slim body, burying his face in his neck and sucking on his throat. The moment he pushed two fingers back inside Draco’s entrance, the blond arched up into him and dug his fingers into Harry’s arms.
He clung to Harry tightly, moaning into his shoulder blade as he found the special spot that got Draco to buck against him helplessly. He breathed hotly into Harry’s skin, writhing underneath him beautifully. Harry wanted to devour him whole.
“Do you do this to every single person you sleep with?” Draco murmured breathily, and Harry smiled into his neck, biting teasingly. Draco shuddered.
“Jealous?”
Draco chuckled, his laughter dying out when Harry grazed his fingertips against his prostate. He rocked his hips around his fingers and moaned.
“God, sod off, wanker.”
“With how you’re sucking my fingers in, I’d wager that you want the opposite,” he said, nuzzling up Draco’s jawline before he kissed him.
His other hand glided along Draco’s inner thigh, grazing past the length before he closed his fingers around it. Draco gasped breathlessly into his mouth, his cock twitching in Harry’s hand.
“Harry, please, it’s—”
Draco’s throat bobbed, and it almost seemed as though the mermaid was struggling to form a coherent sentence, which was odd. But Harry took that as a compliment that he had managed to turn a mermaid into a mess this way.
“Yeah?” he murmured against Draco’s slack lips, curving his fingers upward and watching as Draco cried out wantonly underneath him.
He writhed on the couch, digging the heels of his feet into the couch cushion as he called out Harry’s name like a prayer. He tilted his head to the side to grant Harry more access to his neck, and he raked his nails down Harry’s skin almost painfully.
“Stop,” Draco gasped, sliding his hand down to snatch Harry’s wrist. “Stop, please.”
Harry stilled and lifted his head from Draco’s neck. He said, “Am I doing something wrong?”
“No, stop and fuck me.” Grey eyes looked up at him, pupils wide, and his voice was thick with lust. “I want you to fuck me. Now.”
Draco leaned forward and pulled him down for a kiss, sucking and nipping on Harry’s lips, spreading his legs in reflex when Harry withdrew his fingers from inside him. He aligned his cock against Draco’s entrance, and when he pressed slowly past his tight rim, Draco’s mouth fell slack as he sagged back on the couch.
“Oh—fuck,” Draco gasped, sliding his legs up against Harry’s sides the deeper Harry pushed inside him. “Fuck, Harry.”
“Does it hurt?”
“A bit, but I’m okay.” He snaked his arms around Harry’s neck, carding his fingers in his hair. “God, you’re so big.”
Harry grinned, a sense of pride filled his chest, and Draco hummed in satisfaction.
“Yeah, take that as a compliment. I don’t give them out a lot.”
“Should I be flattered?”
“Don’t be too flattered,” Draco said, letting out a soft noise from his lips when Harry finally bottomed out. “Fuck—I’m going to get my mouth on your cock someday, Harry. All of you.”
“Fuck,” Harry grumbled, which only made Draco’s lips stretch out to form a smirk. “You and your bloody mouth.”
“You like that, Potter?”
Harry let out a low growl and claimed Draco’s lips roughly, dragging his cock out enough before he thrust back in. Draco moaned into his mouth and dug his nails into Harry’s arms. He set up a slow pace at first, allowing Draco time to adjust to his cock inside him. His insides were warm and tight around Harry’s cock, clinging to him just like Draco was.
“Fuck—harder, please,” Draco said, moaning and pushing back against every thrust of Harry’s cock. “God, you make me feel so full.”
And there was simply something about the way Draco begged for him that roused him up further. Harry snapped his hips and pounded into Draco harder, every thrust made his mouth fall open wider.
The braid of his hair had gotten more and more dishevelled at this point, sweat was beading around his forehead, and his eyes were hazy with ardour. He was exposed and vulnerable, only for Harry to see. He was beautiful, like a masterpiece that should be put in a museum, and Harry would keep everyone away from Draco just to be his sole admirer.
No one was going to get to see Draco like this ever again. Not when Harry was here. And he was going to make sure of it.
He grabbed Draco by the wrists and pinned his hands over his head on the couch, his stomach burning with desire the moment grey eyes looked up at him. Pleading. Draco whimpered and rolled his hips, his cock bobbing in the air, pooling precum on his stomach helplessly.
The couch was creaking loudly as he thrust into Draco, their breaths mingling together as Harry ghosted his lips over Draco’s. The blond moaned wantonly, his lips parting open, swollen from their kisses. His eyes were glazed, pupils dilating wide, and as he looked up at Harry, he couldn’t stop but feel a surge of warmth in his chest.
He wanted Draco to stay just like this. Under him and taking all of him. Talking back with that bratty mouth of his. Looking at him like he wanted Harry to kiss him.
“Has anyone ever told you you’re a walking masterpiece?”
Draco chuckled breathlessly, a moan laced in his laughter as he shook his head.
“Not in those exact words, no.”
“You’re so fucking beautiful,” Harry said, gripping Draco’s wrists tighter with his other hand roaming down his chest. “So godly and divine.”
He pounded into Draco, drawing out another cry from him. He swallowed it down with a kiss, devouring all his delicious noises as he fucked Draco in earnest. He pulled away only when Draco needed to breathe, pouring constant praise in his ear, and Draco reacted beautifully to each and every single compliment he gave him.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you,” he murmured, caressing the line of his jaw as he fucked into Draco. “You appeared even in my sleep. You occupied every dream I had. I couldn’t forget you if I wanted to.”
“Harry,” Draco said weakly, sliding his legs up his sides to lock around Harry’s waist. A rosy flush rose up his cheeks and spread down to his neck and chest. “Do you say this to everyone?”
“Only to the one who called me a fool after he tricked me.”
A faint smile appeared on his lips. “Am I that special to you?”
“You already know the answer to that,” Harry said, and it apparently was the right thing to say as the smile stretched out wider on Draco’s lips.
Draco tilted his head up and caught his lips in a kiss that managed to tingle Harry’s chest. He slid his arms down Draco’s arms, holding him by the hips to fuck into him with deeper thrusts, letting Draco cling to him with his nails digging down Harry’s back.
When their kiss broke, it was to let Draco take a breath as his chest heaved heavily. Harry buried his face in the crook of Draco’s neck, inhaling the fresh oceanic scent. He could get used to this. In fact, he could easily get addicted to this kind of smell from now on.
He sucked a new visible bruise on Draco’s throat, biting gently against his skin and smiling when Draco tilted his head to the other side. Allowing him even more access. It was a blunt invitation that didn’t require any words to be said.
“Harry—Harry, I’m close—” he croaked out the words hoarsely, winding his arms around Harry’s torso and arching his entire body up.
Harry didn’t slow his pace. Instead, he lifted Draco’s lower body up and snapped his hips, watching as Draco broke right underneath him. His eyes rolled to the back of his head, his lips falling slack as a broken moan left his throat. He trembled, his legs quivering around Harry’s waist as he spilled all over his stomach.
To say he was beautiful would be an understatement. Draco was glorious. His hair was tousled, and the sheen of sweat on his body, along with the fluids painting his abdomen, turned him into a beautifully painted canvas.
Mermaids were gorgeous, but Draco was sublime. It was as though every inch of his body was intricately carved to look this godly. Harry could worship him with all of his might.
He picked up a faster pace with shallow thrusts, and Draco’s gentle hands glided up his face to caress his jawline. His grey eyes were still half dazed by the afterglow of sex. He smiled, tugging Harry down until their breaths mingled with each other.
“Don’t you want to fill me up, Harry?” he whispered, and it should be a sin how delicious Draco sounded. “I don’t usually let anyone come inside me, you know.”
“Yeah?” he asked, the surge of pride filling his ribcage.
Draco merely hummed, ghosting his lips over Harry’s. “Do you want to be the first one?”
The simple truth implied was enough for Harry to bear a low growl, his fingers digging into Draco’s waist. His claws weren’t out yet, but the grip might be enough to bruise Draco’s skin.
When he felt the muscles of his stomach tighten, Harry dropped his head to Draco’s sternum, his thrusts faltering as he came inside Draco. He was the first one. He was the only one. And that was enough for Harry to want to bite into Draco’s neck, claiming the mermaid as his and his alone.
Draco let out a soft noise, clenching his entrance around Harry’s cock, and the werewolf growled low into his collarbone. He fucked lazily into Draco’s hole, a part of him still seemed to long for more.
“Do you mean it?” Harry asked, lifting his head up from Draco’s chest to meet the grey eyes. “What you said before?”
Plump lips curled upward, and Draco said, “Mermaids don’t always lie.”
Something tugged at Harry’s chest, and he lunged in to seal Draco’s lips. He nipped and sucked on his lower lip, roaming his hands over Draco’s flanks, unable to keep his hands to himself.
The sound of someone clearing their throat pulled them both away.
Draco stared up at him with wide eyes, and Harry stilled for a mere second before he looked up at the entrance of the kitchen, where Ginny was standing with a bowl of cereal in her hands.
“Gin,” he said. “I thought you left already.”
“Yeah, I was going to,” Ginny replied, a wave of guilt flashing across her face. “But I was still hungry, you know, after scouting the beach for hours for you? So I decided to get some more breakfast here. And then you two came back, and it really left me no window to sneak out of the house. You guys were really fast to strip out of your clothes.”
“So you’ve been watching us?”
“Of course not! That’s just weird. I didn’t watch you, though I heard you, and it’s not really what I prefer to listen to.” She bared a smile, slurping on the bowl of cereal to empty it. “I wanted to say something, but I didn’t want to be a mood killer. So I stayed in there and just waited for you two to finish, which took really long. Now that you’re done, though, I figured…”
“Oh! Oh, yeah. Just go. You can go.”
“Yeah, thanks.” She nodded, putting the bowl back on the table behind her before she crossed the living room. She waved at Draco and put on a smile. “Hey. Sorry for…stalking you for the past few weeks. Harry wanted—”
“I know,” Draco said, putting on a tight-lipped smile. “I don’t mind knowing that the Alpha in your pack wanted me, so it’s all right.”
“I thought that too, and just so you know, you’re quite special to him too. Harry doesn’t just come in anyone—”
“Gin! Get out!”
“Fine! Jesus,” she muttered, snorting as she walked to the door. “Harry doesn’t get attached easily, so you might as well prepare to be eternally bonded with a werewolf already, Draco—”
“Ginny!”
“I’m going!” She guffawed loudly, grabbing her robes and opening the door. She looked over her shoulder with a smile. “Gotta go back to my wife. She’ll be delighted to know that her prediction came true. Again.”
“Wait, you knew this would happen?” Harry asked, and Ginny merely shrugged.
“Sort of. Luna also told me I should have breakfast at home today and come back as soon as I could, but I didn’t listen. I really should have,” she said, scrunching up her nose. “Anyhow, have a good time, you two. Draco, be prepared; werewolves are always ready for the second round. With Harry, it got to be at least five—”
“Ginevra Lovegood-Weasley!”
“All right! Don’t full name me.”
Ginny waved at them again, mischief appeared in her eyes before she left the house. Harry exhaled his breath and looked back at Draco, who was smiling at him.
“Sorry about that. My pack is—”
“Interesting,” Draco said. “So you don’t get attached too easily, and apparently I’m special?”
“Gin says random stuff all the time,” he said. “But, er, you being special to me isn’t wrong.”
“And you really could last up to five rounds?” He raised both brows. “That sounds a little unbelievable.”
“Do you want to prove it’s true?”
“Perhaps if you ask me nicely.” Draco smiled and tapped his finger on Harry’s shoulder blade. “I might take you up on that invitation.”
“Okay,” he said. “And maybe after that we can have dinner together?”
“Sex and dinner? Are you asking me out on a date, Potter?”
“Yeah!”
“Still so blunt.” Draco snorted and said, “Very well. I’ll agree to that. Though, are you going to invite me to swim in your pool again?”
“You can swim in my pool whenever you want. I do have to tell you that only my lovers get to do that.”
“Ah, are you asking me to be yours?”
He nodded, and the corners of Draco’s lips turned upward. “Yeah. I want to go out with you, if you let me.”
A light flush painted Draco’s cheeks. “Already asking to date me. You always get what you want, don’t you?”
“Fortunately,” he said. “Is that a yes?”
Draco’s gaze softened, and he ran his hands into Harry’s hair, touching the nape of his neck delicately. Harry wanted to kiss him again.
“Yes,” Draco said, and Harry’s heart wanted to jump out of his throat. “Now, are you going to prove to me that what your pack said is true?”
He grinned, his stomach coiling in anticipation, before he ducked his head and kissed Draco, enveloping the blond in his arms securely.
Maybe Harry didn’t hate mermaids anymore. In fact, he might actually adore all of them from now on.
Especially one gorgeous, perfect mermaid, in particular.
The End.
