   Summary

   Astarion glares at the Dekarios manor. It is, despite all of his irritation, quite the most beautiful building he has ever beheld. Its existence does go quite some way to explaining why Mr Dekarios had, before Astarion laid his reasoning quite so thoroughly at his feet, been so surprised to be refused.
   What more could a man want from a marriage than a handsome partner, good fortune, and well-appointed estate?
   Other than respect, of course.

   Yes this is a Pride and Prejudice plus magic fic, in which Gale is Darcy and Astarion is Elizabeth (to begin with). Beginning just after Astarion turns down Gale's proposal.
