[PODFIC] The Season, by Linnetagain

Summary:

Podfic recording of, and recommendation for "The Season, by Linnetagain".
(summary from fic): In which Astarion is an ex-olympic figure skater and Gale is a famous musician. They get paired together as Dancing on Ice's first ever same sex couple. Shenanigans ensue.

Recommendation: Linnetagain's The Season is a bloodweave WIP. It's epic in length and ambition. If you dare to open it, you'll need to sacrifice up to 10 hours of sleep in exchange, because Linnetagain's story laughs in the face of...somnia. It's marked "slow burn", and boy is that slow burn good. The premise is fun and interesting, and all the characters have legitimate contributions to make (i.e. they're not just background).

Linnetagain's The Season is a bloodweave WIP. It's epic in length and ambition. If you dare to open it, you'll need to sacrifice up to 10 hours of sleep in exchange, because Linnetagain's story laughs in the face of...somnia. It's marked "slow burn", and boy is that slow burn good. The premise is fun and interesting, and all the characters have legitimate contributions to make (i.e. they're not just background).

More reasons to go read the fic (links above):

  • fun premise, epic scope.
  • interesting main plot and intertwined sub-plots (support plots? they're also main, but the slow burn is the main...most mainy-mainest point, obviously).
  • glorious slow burn - enthralling development of sort-of friendship from a sort-of dislike, to (so far) settling into a more solid foundation. 
  • OC's pretty good <3
  • great characterisation of secondary characters give depth to the story and keep the interactions interesting (I didn't have an urge to skip non-main-pairing scenes. Everyone was interesting and I wanted to know what they thought/had to say).
  • Gale's house sounds pretty cool, ngl. I had to google "aga" - it's a type of cooktop, probably...or an oil company. I feel a cooktop is more likely in a kitchen, but you never know.

One possible downside:

  • No sleep permitted. Once this fic is opened, it cannot be put down. Condolences, future you.

So anyway, I read the whole thing and now I'm reading this to myself as a distraction while I wait for Chapter 20.  Join me. You won't regret it. 100% guarantee!
