Truly, when Kaiser shot Isagi his ‘oh, you’re so going to hate this' look, right after he had asked him what on earth he intended to do with the keys of the scooter he stole from his grandfather, he should’ve known it wasn’t going to end well.
“Michael Kaiser, I swear that if you don’t tell me what the hell we’re doing here, I'm going back to sleep.” Isagi threatened, stressing each syllabes of the blonde’s name.
It was three in the morning, for god’s sake.
At that, Kaiser visibly held back a chuckle. His smile faked innocence, while his eyes screamed mischief. Isagi pinched his nose bridge and audibly sighed, trying to keep the last bit of his sanity. The lack of sleep combined with the sight of Kaiser guiding the scooter towards the damaged road made it all the more difficult to do so.
“Come on, Yoichi, it’ll be fun!” Kaiser insisted, way too loud for Isagi’s liking. They weren’t supposed to be awake at some ungodly hour. They were supposed to be in their room, sleeping. Not in the backyard of Kaiser's grandmother, about to break the very first rule the adults gave them when they arrived a week ago for the summer break, that rule being ‘everyone back inside the house by midnight or else'.
“But what exactly will be fun, Michael ? If your grandma finds out about us leaving right now, we’re doomed.” The blue haired boy took a step towards the older man, attempting to pull the scooter over its initial place. To no avail, as Michael fucking Kaiser pouted and held the handlebar closer to his hips, the wheel trapped between his legs.
Kaiser’s light blue eyes searched for his own, digging and digging to find what could annihilate Isagi’s resolve. Unique and beautifully blue eyes, tarnished only a little by the flashlight he had in his hand. Isagi knew he would lose the battle - just who could win against Michael’s eyes ? - but he swore that he would not leave without a fight. Not so much for his own pride, but to not let Kaiser have it easy, thinking he had that much power over him. Which, unfortunately, he did.
It was against Isagi’s own will that he was brought over to this small (giant) house, lost in Germany’s countryside, for the summer. Long story short, his grandparents from his dad’s side of the family had known Kaiser’s grandfather for a long while, and Yoichi’s mom agreed with the old man that it would be so nice to spend some time together in Germany when he proposed they’d come visit. Apparently, 'some time’ meant ‘the whole two months of summer break’, and Isagi had to pack his things on the tenth of July when school ended early due to really bad weather, leaving his friends who stayed in Japan.
It could’ve been fine, spending a few weeks in a foreign, European country, while not spending a lot of money. Except that the reason Isagi dreaded this little vacation the moment his mom announced it to him, was that obviously Michael Kaiser would be here. Yoichi had met him a few times prior to this one, the two families being somewhat close. He remembered a shy-turned-sly kid from when he got to see him for the last time when he was thirteen, with a confident smirk plastered at all times on his lips. He remembered carefree touches on his arms and shoulders.
Those probably marked the beginning of a bi-awakening.
Yoichi had feared Kaiser’s personality would’ve been even more teasing, cunning, and that he’d become even more touchy. But no amount of preparation could have saved him from the absolute mental breakdown he had when he saw six-foot-tall Michael Kaiser walking into the living room, his chopped hair with blue tips, his red liner, and the intimidating tattoo he had all over his arm. He seemed stronger than before too, and the glint in which his eyes glimmered when they landed on Isagi made him want to run away.
Isagi sighed, again, because even if he was still seventeen and full of teenage hormones, he should've done better than to fancy a childhood friend who lived thousands of kilometers away and whom he saw five times (at most) in his whole life. And who, additionally, could’ve been straight, even if he had honest doubts about that, because well.
Those Queen posters in his bedroom couldn’t really fool anyone.
“Yoichi !” Kaiser almost whined, a little bit closer to him than he was a few moments before. “Just go with me, come on, I'll tell you on the way !” He flipped his body over the scooter, and now his lower back was supported by the handlebar, the back of his head was almost resting on the saddle, and the front wheel still caught up between his thighs. He relied a bit too much on his toes to keep his balance, but the only thought Isagi had was that Kaiser was so damn flexible.
The blonde’s eyes, right below his own as the back wheel scratched against his leg, pierced through him, destitute of the red liner he wore during the day. As usual, Isagi stopped breathing for a few seconds, admired the striking blue, and tried to think about something else to do than ruin the six weeks he had left in Germany by going further than the line he drew in the sand himself. “Yoichii-”
Startled by Kaiser’s meak tone, Isagi flicked his forehead and bit his own lip. He was so weak, because Michael never once said "please", he straight up demanded, and Isagi was almost happy to oblige him. “I hope you know that you look so stupid right now ?” He said, and then avoided his friend’s victorious look, knowing Kaiser knew his little act had the effect he wanted.
Kaiser got up, towering over Isagi. With blue strands of hair resting like luxurious silk over his shoulders and collarbones, he looked like a prideful emperor, even if all he was wearing was a well-worn white tank top. Isagi almost seethed at the smirk thrown at him. He was mad because he knew that in the made-up scenario in which he wasn’t painfully pinning on Kaiser, he would have won.
He suspected the other was aware of that and just kept pretending like nothing was happening.
Truth be told, it was infuriating, and Isagi was running out of sanity.
Kaiser was already on the scooter, only waiting for him to sit behind him and wrap his arms around his waist for support, a teasing smirk adorning his lips.
Isagi sighed and gave him a nasty look, but in the end, he found himself with his torso pressed against Kaiser’s back. “Michael, I swear that if something happens, you’re taking the blame.” He warned as he tried to calm his poor heart.
His friend only laughed, and it resonated inside Isagi’s chest.
A few minutes later, Isagi was yelling at Kaiser to slow down and to ‘stop driving like a madman', tightening his embrace around the blonde’s waist and pressing his forehead against the back of his neck. The driver only chuckled, with a slight blush along a soft smile that Isagi couldn’t see forming on his face.
