    Summary

Everything begins with the Breach. Or, perhaps, everything ends with the Breach.
For Solas, it is the culmination of his mistakes: The Veil will not hold much longer now, but he doesn’t have the power to fix it. Again, he ruined it. Again, he has destroyed everything.
For Din, it’s the second big blow to the year-long failure that is his retirement. He wakes up with magic in his hand that not even Dirthamen has seen before — and the newly formed Inquisition expecting him to lead them. Since, according to Solas’ estimations, he’s the only one who can close the Breach. Fine; Din will close the fucking thing. Then, he’s gone.
The temporary nature of that agreement is convenient: There’s no need to address the feelings they develop for each other, then. Or anything else.
But when Corypheus attacks Haven, they fight.
In the aftermath, they have to face the consequences of what they said. The barbed-wire net of half-lies and almost-truths between them frays, the tensions rise, and a threat as old as Elvhenan awaits.

Or: Solas isn’t the only wolf in the Inquisition. Din isn’t the only one with blood on his hands. The truth is heavy, for liars and thieves.
