Summary
The world turns topsy turvy for Kabru in his PhD program when the Utaya Defense Treaty, an international agreement to control confidential information about Utaya is finally gone. Now he can finally uncover information about the Utaya disaster that the Elven government so desperately wants to hide. However, that doesn’t mean the Northern Central Continent is going to play fairly with keeping what they want under wraps, even if that means targeting those abroad who wish to put their nose where they don’t belong. Fighting against the Elven government's attempts to reinstate the treaty in less than a year and threats being posed to those who dare to challenge them, Kabru has no other choice but to risk himself for the cause of figuring out what the Northern Central Continent is hiding about Utaya.
In the midst of his research, a waiter at a pub catches his eye for his near encyclopedic knowledge on monsters and the dungeons they live in. the waiter, Laios, becomes a unexpected facet of Kabru's life as he struggles against political pressure. Despite Kabru's obsessive dedication to his research, he can't help his attention from wandering to Laios.
