Summary
Fifteen years after the Reaper War ended, Admiral Tali'Zorah vas Rannoch was now the head of Navy's Engineering Corps, and unofficially maintained the delicate balance of peace between her people and their Geth neighbours. In another life, this would have been everything she'd ever dreamed of, if only she hadn't lost everything she held dear to that damned war. Desperation had cost her father the life of his crew as well as his own. The collectors had taken Garrus from her. And just when she had thought she could protect Shepard by being at her side, the Reapers had crushed the hoped too. Eventually, her remaining friends moved on with their lives, and Tali buried her grief beneath her work.
That is till one day, she wakes up to a deserted Rannoch surrounded by hostile Geth. For some reason, Tali found herself back in the year 2183 CE only a few days before she had left for her pilgrimage: a few days before the events that changed the galaxy would begin. She knew when Sovereign would make his move, and the thought of having to fight the Reapers again terrified her. At the same time, she dared hope: Maybe, she could make a difference this time. Maybe, if she could be stronger, then this time she could save them.
