Work Text:

“This is so dumb,” they both said at the unison.

Zoro picked Law, Law picked Zoro. Funny right?

When Zoro told Luffy, the young boy started laughing so loud it made the others turn to them. Zoro smacked his head and tried to say it was just a joke.

“The hell, Luffy??” He glared at his best friend.

“Sorry sorry, Zoro,” he giggled, calming down. “So… what will you get Torao for Christmas?” He asked, visibly curious.

“I don’t know,” he mumbled, cheeks warming up.

How embarrassing that he picked his own crush for the Secret Santa, Zoro knew that he had to impress him.

“Shit,” Law mumbled when reading Zoro’s name on the piece of paper. Not my crush…

“Oh~,” Robin peaked from over his shoulder, smiling knowingly.

“Uh, who did you pick?” Law asked, hopeful it was someone he knew well.

“I picked Sanji,” she replied with a shrug.

“Can we switch, Robin-ya?” Law sounded almost pleading, extremely unusual for someone like him. Why was he panicking anyway?

“Oh, Torao,” Robin gently patted his shoulder. “That’s your chance to impress Zoro, don’t you think?” She winked at her friend before approaching Franky.

Impress, my ass.

On the 24th night, They gathered at Robin’s apartment, spacious enough to accommodate all of them.

Zoro was extremely nervous about his present for Law. He wanted to make a good impression on the man, and he thought that something relate to his job would be good.

Law, on the other hand, believed his present was pure shit. He asked Robin for advice and she told him that something useful for the gym might do the trick, and he searched all over before his friend Penguin convinced him to buy a large, reusable water bottle, green of course.

They both grew more and more tense as their friends kept opening their own presents, as they anxiously waited for Luffy to pick the paper with their names on it.

“ZORO!” Luffy shouted excitedly, looking at his friend.

“Uh,” Law took a deep breath, trying to calm down his nerves, and stood from his spot on the couch. He searched for Zoro’s present under the tree and then handed it to him. “Merry Christmas,” he barely made eye contact with the green haired before sitting back down.

Zoro was surprised it was Law; ironic. He hummed and started unwrapping the present; it looked like a rectangular box. He cleared his throat while holding the box with curiosity, before opening it to reveal a green reusable bottle.

That’s exactly what he needed!

“Thanks, Law,” Zoro glanced at the dark haired man, giving a small thumb up, cheeks slightly flushed.

“You were looking for one, right Zoro?” Robin interjected, smiling softly. The green haired nodded, carefully putting the bottle back into the box.

Law was glad Zoro enjoyed the present, feeling a bit better about it.

When Luffy finally picked his name, Zoro stood and Law was deeply surprised that they picked each other. Hah!

Zoro grabbed the present from under the tree, handed it to him and nodded. “Merry Christmas,” he said coolly, as if his heart wasn’t beating like crazy against his rib cage.

Law thanked him and unwrapped it, revealing a carefully folded cream-colored sweater with a high neck. Once unfolded, Law could see the sweater was featuring an intricate anatomical embroidery. The design showcases the rib cage, internal organs and branching blood vessels in vibrant earthy tones.

“Shit man, that’s cool!” Luffy leaned closer, taking a look at the design. The others agreed at the unison, while Zoro scratched his head in embarrassment.

“Thank you, it’s an amazing gift,” the surgeon looked up at Zoro, a small smile curving his lips. He couldn’t wait to wear it.

“I’m glad you still liked it… compared to the sweater my present is shit, huh?” Law stared down at his feet, before taking another sip from his bottle.

“Not at all. It’s useful, and I like practical things,” Zoro reassured him, before standing a bit closer to the dark haired man.

Law noticed it and looked up at Zoro, before freezing in his spot when the younger leaned closer and kissed his lips.

Wow. Okay.

Law put down the bottle before returning the kiss, his heart beat faster. He felt warmth spread all over his body when Zoro’s tongue caressed his lips before pushing past, meeting his own.

His tattooed hand reached Zoro’s face, cupping his cheek and tilting his head to his liking as he deepened the kiss, making the younger groan.

“Would you look at that,” Nami grinned, making the two jump and pull away. Law stepped as far as possible, red and embarrassed, while Zoro simply cleared his throat.

“Usopp! You own me 50 berries!” She shouted, satisfied with herself.

“You bet on us?! You witch!” Zoro grumbled, about to run after the ginger before Law stopped him by grabbing his arm.

“Don’t think about it, okay?” He offered, his voice soothing. Zoro huffed before rubbing his forehead.

“Yeah, alright,” he gave in, before an idea popped into his head. “Are you free this Friday?” He asked while looking up at Law.

“Uh, yeah,” he nodded, a bit surprised by the question.

“Great, I’ll pick you at seven.”
