“I can’t believe it is so hard!” Yamato whined, trying to not make a mess with the royal icing.
“You’re being too rough,” Ace shrugged, even though he was in the same situation.
“What?!” He looked offended, frowning. Yamato resumed his work, deciding to ignore his boyfriend for now.
The two worked in silence for a long while, decorating their set of gingerbread cookies. They saw tons of videos online and it looked much easier.
After an eternity, Yamato finished first and ate the remaining frosting before glancing at Ace’s work. Hah!
“Mines are more neat,” he bragged, folding his arms over his chest. “I clearly win.”
“You don’t win at all! You used the frosting only, while we said to use some candies too,” Ace pointed to Yamato’s cookies.
The white haired boy paused, noticing that Ace’s cookies looked more colourful. “Uh.”
He reached for some candies, using them for the buttons. They seemed to gain some colour, which made him smile.
“Okay, done,” he said then, rubbing his cheek. “I’m finished for real now.”
Ace finished decorating his own too, and wiped his forehead before taking a look at the plates full of cookies. They looked cute and inviting. A success.
“Well, they’re not too bad,” he offered, patting his boyfriend’s shoulder.
“Of course they’re not. We’re the best!” He stated proudly, grinning. Yamato was really satisfied and he couldn’t wait to eat them, to be honest.
“Yeah, we are,” Ace agreed, smiling too.
Yamato turned to him and leaned in for a kiss, catching the dark haired by surprise before he finally reciprocated. When they broke apart, they decided to let the icing set before finally eating one.
Ace ate one decorated by Yamato, and vice versa.
“Man, they’re amazing,” the white haired said, visibly satisfied. Ace nodded in agreement, grinning.
“Just like us,” he replied with a chuckle.
