    Regulus Black leaves the Potter’s house one night without one idea in his head - he can’t do this anymore.

    James Potter and Barty Crouch Jr follow him at a distance, not sure what he’s doing outside, at night, in the dead of winter. He’s been acting strange all day.
    Barty doesn’t realise he’s going to have to dive into icy waters to save his best friend, and almost kill himself in the process. James doesn’t realise he’s going to break a rib performing CPR on his boyfriend, who purposefully never learnt to swim, in case this day would come. And Sirius is all the way back at the house, with no idea this is all happening.

    TW - suicide attempt. It’s nothing explicit, it’s just known that thats why Reg is in the water.
