“Why would you take me down to the station?” The boy petulantly crosses his arms over his chest. It does nothing to make him look intimidating or threatening. He reminds Eddie of a small puppy, who thinks it’s much bigger and scarier than it is. Yeah, Eddie can definitely see it. A golden retriever baring its teeth, yipping and nipping at his ankles to stop him from entering its territory. “Who even are you?”
Eddie thought news travelled fast in small towns. He’d sure as hell know, growing up in Nowhere, El Paso.
“The new sheriff. Who else?”
The boy scoffs, “Sure, and I’m the mayor”.
