Chapter Text
Hello! (╹◡╹)
The fanfic is post-game of Dangan Ronpa v3 and by that it also means this is my take on the universe!
It is not necessary at all to read this, it’s more of a bonus rather than a chapter of the story
Basically this is the information given to all those that want to participate on the virtual reality of Dangan Ronpa
And since this is something all the characters technically already know I am not confident in my ability to get it through without saying it explicitly.

Completed!
Welcome to the Dangan Ronpa ⌖ experience!
•The VR game of Dangan Ronpa is a simulation in honor of the actual killing games that took place during the war, the purpose of this simulation is that of preventing despair in the actual and future generations as well as that of entertainment.
•All participations are completely voluntary.
•Every single participant is aware and well informed of the length of their contribution as well as their situation once inside the simulation.
•To ensure the truthfulness of the last aspect there is the very existence of this format along the multiple trials conducted by Team Dangan Ronpa.
•The simulation works as followed:
Every participant must create a persona that will be used as their avatar on the simulation, the personas will not remember the real world as the simulation is their reality.
Depending on the scenario and theme of the killing game the memories of the personas will be altered accordingly, such as a game where all personas were given amnesia so that they have no motivation nor reason to get out of the game or for that matter ending it.
The mastermind will not be a normal participant due to the risk of causing an obsessive despair state in the mind of the person, instead the mastermind will be a member of Team Dangan Ronpa, however the member will still have their memories altered accordingly to the theme of the game.
What is a persona?
•A persona is the character the participant shall play in during the experience, it will be the person it’s written to be.
•A persona comes from over a thousand questions and descriptions all presented in a single form, brief examples of this would be as followed:
[What is the persona’s favorite food and why is this? 10 lines minimum.]
[What is the persona’s ultimate talent? 50 lines minimum.]
The company gives this format to all participants so most aspects of the persona are as detailed as possible and hopefully match the real life of said participant as much as possible.
Why is this?
•Due to previous incidents regarding the simulation, most specifically post-game. It is now known that the further a persona is from a participant’s life the harder it will be for said participant to re integrate themselves into society, things such as identity-crisis, impostor syndrome and multiple mental disorders are very likely to happen, this can also induce despair which is the main reason it’s not advised.
The following example is meant to explain the mental clash that can occur.
If a good natured policeman who has always respected the law and upheld law-abiding morals suddenly found themselves with the memories and body of a criminal who has a drastically different mentality or morals they would be horribly confused, even more so if they remember the moment when the persona format was filled out.
Are they not real?
Is their whole life a lie?
Every person they loved and cherished doesn’t even exist?
Every ability they have developed could be fake?
Did the situations that mold them even happened?
Every hardship endured.. for which purpose?
Why do they exist?
In some cases this questions dissipate or can eventually reach answers thanks to the advanced therapy provided by the program, but there are still many risks and variables that can permanently affect the participant’s mind and life.
This is why high level fiction on personas is not advised.
Risks:
•Permanent physical damage
|_these are not limited to what the eye can see, the VR has unlimited ways to murder.
•Permanent mental damage
|_as said on the previous section and more, experiencing a killing game can deeply impact people.
•Social repercussions
|_as the simulation is entertainment material, many people will dislike or hate certain “characters”, once the simulation is over a participant may suffer social consequences-up to drastic measures- due to the actions of it’s persona.
Further details:
•Content:The entirety of the simulation is constantly being broadcasted live, once the simulation is finished it gets turned into a video game and afterwards all the recordings are properly edited to be another season of the Dangan Ronpa series.
•Interviewing:During the interviews no private information will be given, just the full name of the participant and their motivation to join the game, this helps assure the name of the participant and persona match, as well as to discard people that are either mentally unstable or simply not viable to participate in the game.
|_ When we say mentally unstable we do not mean the persona (it can be crazy if the participant chooses to do so ,even if we strongly advise against it)or issues as anxiety.
We mean people that wouldn’t be able to handle the situation and difference of identities after the game is finished or want to join the game for sinister motives.
The participant’s real name must be shared with the persona as to not completely separate the identities.
•Reenactment:Depending on how the participant died and other injuries they may have developed during the simulation their physical body will be affected aside from the mental toll of said injuries.
This is because the pain and sensations must be real to ensure the personas don’t realize the illusion of their world.
If a participant was shot in the simulation they will be shot in real life, rest assured Team Dangan Ronpa counts with the best medical equipment available as well as the best doctors and nurses, no injury shall be truly fatal.
•Death:Before a participant “dies” they will be disconnected from the VR, this will happen exactly a millisecond before the brain acknowledges the fact it has “died” even if a participant had given up hope or were completely unconscious all that their brain knew for a fact was that they are still alive.
If anyone does have any problems or complains regarding the simulation there are multiple other realistic games that aren’t as extreme nor include murder.
If the critiques are to improve the quality and overall performance of the experience then Team Dangan Ronpa is open to criticism and would love to hear more.
We hope all future participants reading this have a unique experience with us!
Welcome to the family :)
