Halloween costumes

Summary:

Aiden has a brillant idea for a halloween costume if only Tyler will let him join in.

Notes:

Okay before I hear it in the comics, I know personality wise Aiden is more of a Roy than a Jason, but honestly can we see Tyler as Jason? Also Aiden would totally love Jason, he also was killed by a blow to the head, he also has a rough past, and the whole robin gives me magic thing is so Aiden core. Also this boy loves violence who are we kidding.

Work Text:

“Aiden, what are you doing?” Ashlyn asked, as she sat down next to him and Ben on the bus.

“Making my Halloween costume,” Aiden said, grinning.

“You do know it’s the seventeenth, you still have two weeks?” Ashlyn said, shaking her head.

“Yes, but I need mine to be ready now,” Aiden said, looking back down at his hands. He seemed to be stitching something together. It was covered in a dark looking liquid reminiscent of blood.

“Why?” Ashlyn asked, looking over at Ben. Ben was currently dissociating, looking out the window with his music turned up. Honestly, that was such a mood, Ashlyn would’ve joined him, if she wasn’t concerned about what Aiden was going to try to bring into the school.

Ashlyn couldn’t get a good look at it, but as they pulled up to the building Aiden jumped into the air, yelling “I finished it!”

Ashlyn looked up to see him holding a leather jacket, strange. She had expected something worse from him.

That was when Aiden put on the mask and hood. Nope, it was bad again. He was dressed as Red Hood.

“Please don’t go into the school looking like that,” Ashlyn pleaded as they walked to the front.

Ben nodded, but Aiden ignored them both. “Com’on it looks cool.”

Surprisingly, no one suspended Aiden. Maybe all the teachers were still scared of him after the whole “teen terrorist” thing.

“Pyscho what the fuck?” Tyler called down the hallway. He wore a thing of body armor as well, with a toy bow and arrow.

“Oh my gosh!” Taylor said, squealing, she ran up to Aiden and hugged him. She was wearing a bright orange wig and a tight purple body suit.

“Did I miss something?” Ashlyn asked, looking between the three of them. She only knew Aiden was dressed like Jason Todd because he was his favorite comic book character. She figured the twins had dressed as comic book characters but she didn’t know what it was supposed to be.

“Today is the day the baseball team has its Trunk or treat, and only Taylor is invited,” Tyler said, hitting Aiden on the head.

“But com’on, you can’t be the outlaws without me!”

“The outlaws?” Ashlyn asked Ben.

Ben sighed and began signing, “It's Jason Todd’s team. He works with Arsenal and Starfire as a group of vigilantes that aren’t a part of the justice league or police system.”

Ashlyn nodded, not really getting it, but glad to have some kind of explanation.

“But I want to go!” Aiden said, looking at Tyler.

“Yeah, it would look so cool,” Taylor said, standing beside Aiden.

“No,” Tyler said, shaking his head. “We don’t need someone dressed as Jason Todd, they’ll get our costumes without it.”

“But we could get pictures,” Aiden said, doing big puppy eyes.

“And we could do cosplays together as well,” Taylor said, eyes wide. “We could make those fun little shorts.”

“Oh my gosh,” Aiden said, getting excited once more. “We could totally do one of those ‘the outlaws go to the aquarium’ videos.”

“Or we could do that trend where we try to bake a cake!” Taylor said, jumping up and down.

“Fine,” Tyler said, rolling his eyes. “But if we do that trend, I get to be the one who can’t hear, so I don’t have to hear you two.”

Taylor and Aiden grinned, pulling Tyler off to their next class.

“How did they convince him to do it?” Ashlyn asked Ben.

Ben shrugged. Taylor and Aiden had ways unknown to either of them apparently.
