Work Text:
Six watched Sarah walk onto their deck, holding up two pumpkins and some carving supplies.
“What are you doing?” Six asked, as Sarah set them down on the table in front of Six.
“What do you think?” Sarah asked, a wide grin on her face. “We’re carving pumpkins today.”
“Eww this is so gross,” Six said, reaching her hand into the pumpkin bits. “Why can’t I use my telekines?”
“Because that’d be cheating,” Sarah said, waving a finger, covered in pumpkin gunk, in Six’s face. “You said you had never carved a pumpkin before, so you have to do it the human way first.”
Six sighed and pulled out more of the gunk. Sarah insisted they keep all the gunk because they could bake with it, whatever that meant.
“Katarina always said that it was a stupid human tradition. We never understood it.”
“Well, Katerina was wrong,” Sarah said. “Plus, you’ll like it once we get the candles here.”
Six side eyed Sarah but continued to do as she said.
Two hours later they sat in front of their house, two jack-o-lanterns on the porch, lit up brightly. Six’s one had the Loric symbol for six on it, because of course she did that, while Sarah’s was a cat. They were pretty sitting next to each other on the chilly night.
“Okay, you were right,” Six said, leaning into Sarah.
Sarah smiled, “of course I was. When am I ever wrong?”
Six rolled her eyes but pecked Sarah on the lips regardless.
