Summary
Post canon. Set during “Just What We Expected,” immediately after the scene in Ch. 20 where Mike runs into Captain Stanley and his new crew at a suspicious warehouse fire. (Don’t read it the original story LOL. It’s 147,000 words’ worth of time you’ll never get back.) (Be sure to look at the rating, tags, and notes on that story if you decide to read it.)
All you need to know is that Johnny and Roy are captains at their own stations, Chet is finally an engineer somewhere else, and Mike is an arson investigator. Marco is the only original member (besides Cap) who is still on the A-shift at 51s. The engineer is Ed Jackson, and the shift is training a probie, Sean Flint. The two paramedics are Dunworth (who just had to look over Mike, Marco, the probie, and Mike’s fire investigation partner over after a hazmat exposure) and Castro, who was annoyingly absent at the time of that incident.
