The prequel of 'the grudge'
He sits on his backpack at the bus stop outside the school gates, jumper sleeves pulled over his hands. The sign above him is rusted. The street smells like wet concrete and something metallic. His shoes are already damp. His socks definitely are.
Mum is late.
She’s never late.
Oscar checks the time on the little watch she bought him at the airport for the third time in five minutes, even though he knows it hasn’t changed enough to matter. He presses his knees together and stares down the road anyway.
