    After the death of her parents, Viktoria Reveck was taken by House Talis and moved miles away from home to a new country with only a single luggage case. The house was nice. The woman who took her in was nicer. However, there was something wrong; something haunted the house, and it had taken a special interest in Viktoria.

    No breath left her lips as her body became that of stone. Eyes unblinking, she witnessed the figure in the gaps between the shadows. All Viktoria saw were two pinpricks. Eyes. They were eyes of ruby and garnet, so solely focused on the body of Viktoria. The figure did not move, never crossed the threshold into the room. It simply stared—no—devoured the visage of her flesh.
