Summary
Paddy goes to David Stirling’s birthday party against his better judgement, fully intending to have one drink, stay out of the way, and leave as soon as he can.
Instead, he notices a man on the dance floor.
Paddy does not, as a rule, watch people.
He certainly does not, as a rule, cross a room to speak with them.
And he does not, under any circumstances, invite them home.
But rules have never served Paddy Mayne particularly well.
