   Summary

   “I can also just, you know, sit here with you,” Jackie says. There’s something in her voice that sounds uncertain in a way Jackie Taylor never shows. “We don’t have to talk.”

   Jackie isn’t sure of herself and Shauna can’t find the words she wants to say. It feels wrong in a way that dreams do, the kind that seems real until it misses one key detail. Shauna continues to write and Jackie sits there like the silence isn’t driving her crazy, and there was once a time where this was all Shauna wanted, but she never expected it to feel like this.
