“It’s more than wanting a pet,” Wriothesley admits. He’s felt it in their bond, and in their moments of intimacy.
Their touches have lingered and they’ve stayed together in the after much longer, as if hoping Neuvillette’s release would take. The desire for a child has been there, in the backs of their minds, and they both know it. They just simply haven’t found it necessary to bring those needs to the forefront.
“Two years is still young in comparison to the centuries we’ll have,” Neuvillette thinks aloud. His fingers play over Wriothesley’s belly, soothing strokes. Wriothesley does much the same, fingers tracing the scales on Neuvillette’s forearm. “Is it not too soon to be thinking of children?”
“Maybe, but we’ve known each other long enough before marriage. We waited very long.”
