Summary
Obi-Wan lowered his eyes to the cup in front of him, half-empty and cold. An uncomfortable, heavy silence fell between them. When he was a Padawan, he and his master could sit like that for hours, without speaking. Silence was comfortable, routine. Oh yes, it was nice to understand a person without speaking, to discern subtle changes in his attitude in the midst of a room full of strangers, or to anticipate each other’s thoughts.
“I’m wondering what could have happened to us, to be incapable of a simple conversation” regret Qui-Gon.
That was the last straw. Obi-Wan’s typical sarcasm came out, with a certain glint of defiance deep in his stormy eyes.
“You can only blame yourself.”
“What do you mean?”
“You are the only one responsible. It’s your fault if we’re here now.”
OR:
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon meet again after ten years of silences and avoidance. Obi-Wan is mad at Qui-Gon, Qui-Gon has no idea, Anakin is happy to see his brother, Ahsoka has a new friend and Cody is desperate. Oh, and Obi-Wan has a new padawan.
