Keith needed a moment to adjust the length of the leash. In doing so, his finger slipped and the material didn't catch like it should have.
“HURK!”
“OH MY GOD! Lance, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?” Keith panicked and checked Lance's neck where the Cuban was rubbing the sore spot.
“I'm...fine?” Lance wasn't actually sure how he felt...that was weird…
Keith raised an eyebrow at this and the realization hit when Lance lifted his head and Keith got a peek at his expression...oh...OH, I definitely KNOW that face...

Summary

“Lance, my man!” Kai grinned as he leaned over the railing, the tails of his purple bandanna shifting slightly due to a nearby vent blowing out cold air. “Just grab us a table! I'll come to you!” Before Lance could interject, he heard a snort as a nearby chair was taken, the legs screeching against the hardwood floor.
“Why would you want to hang out with him?” Gray asked as he pulled the bill of his cap down over his sapphire eyes.
“He'll just take your girl when you finally find someone!” Duke exclaimed, already starting to get drunk. “Kai's after all our women!”

“So, wait, you know how to speak Spanish?”
Using her best Elle Woods impression, Pidge crossed her arms. “What, like it's hard?” Keith frowned at her, clearly unhappy that she was cracking jokes at a time like this.
“Spanish and Italian are pretty close,” Shiro intervened. “I'm personally not shocked she can understand.” He turned his attention to Pidge. “Can you be our translator for the time being?” She nodded as she came up to the bed and put a reassuring hand on Lance's shoulder. He smiled weakly, still a bit dazed from his injury.
“Somos amigos,” she said softly and returned the smile.

Keith loved Lareina with every fiber of his being. She still had a ways to go until she hit the finish line. He made sure to be there for every bit of her transition. The therapy, the medications, the surgeries, all of it. Whatever it took to make her feel comfortable. He even helped with the shots until she was confident enough to do it herself. But, sometimes, it wasn't enough.

Hearing the floor creak behind him, he smiled as warm arms wrapped around him and his husband's large hands found Lance's tummy. “You DO know that pulling those off early doesn't ACTUALLY make our little pearl come sooner, right?”
“Well, why the hell not?” he complained in a whiny tone, but laughed shortly after as Hunk used the stubble on his chin to tickle Lance's neck.
