He knew there would be cake, that his favorite meals would be made. He knew there would be a party later in the day with all of his friends and allies invited. He knew that if there was anywhere he wanted to go, they would do so, provided there were no large-scale Arkham breakouts to deal with. He knew that at some point throughout the day, his mother would arrive. She never approached him directly, but he could always sense her eyes on him.

It isn’t until she witnesses a mugging (she was the one being mugged, as if she had anything to give) that she starts doing the vigilantism thing. Or rather, stopping crime through sheer dumb luck seeing as she’d much rather draw less attention to herself than leap across rooftops without any kind of backup to speak of. Aspen's not stupid and she’s spent enough time in Gotham to know that the Bats don’t particularly take well to intruders into their turf. Now if only she could just get whoever is chasing her to leave her alone.
