They passed near an alley. Peter stopped immediately at the sound of a metallic clang; his senses were screaming something at him that he couldn't understand. His breathing quickened; he felt the noise getting closer and closer, but he hadn't moved. Everything around him went blurry as he heard more noise.
The little girl carefully hid behind him. Peter went pale and his hands ached. But he took a step forward, ready for anything. The noise lessened; something vibrated in the walls and he felt suffocated. But he still stood there; the girl was holding him tight, so he didn't move anymore.
The moans grew quieter and there was a loud crash in the alley. "Damn it, please don't let it be a ghost, please don't let it be a ghost."

She clutched the folder that Peter had given her tightly, its paper supple and yellowed. A photograph of a young girl, no older than sixteen, was clipped to the front. Its print was black-and-white, but she could see enough to know that the resemblance was there. The girl had short hair, cut above her shoulders, a slight wave to it, and if Natasha had to guess, it would burn a vibrant red. The girl’s expression was somber, her eyes downcast, cheeks hollow, colourless. She had that look to her, as though she hadn’t smiled a day in her life.
In some ways, it remind Natasha of her own youth. "This is her?" She asked, not looking up from the file, though she knew the answer that she would receive.
Her fingers traced over the name printed in black ink at the centre of the folder: Romanov, Ellia.
Peter’s confusion was evident when he spoke. "Yeah, that’s Ellia. But, Misses Black Widow, I really don’t understand-"
"You don’t need to understand, Parker." She smiled slightly, her teeth cutting into her lower lip until the familiar taste of copper flooded her mouth. "You can go now. I’m sure Stark needs you in the lab."
