13-year-old Elmira Petrova-Hirano's life couldn't be better before 2 and a half years ago, when Elmira was orphaned. Right before she turned 11, there was a house fire; it trapped her and her parents upstairs. Her parents protected her, shielding her from the fires with their bodies. Elmira watched hazily as her parents burned. It wasn't until she woke up in the hospital that she found out that her parents took most of the burns, which proved to be fatal. Luckily her brother was at a friend's house at the time. It only got worse; a year later, her brother died, hit by a drunk driver.
With no one left, she shut down. She was quiet, completely shielded off from the world. Elmira's only escapes from the cruel world around her were the hobbies she'd done with her parents and brother. Skateboarding and figure skating; two of the only things she had left of her past.She couldn't have possibly expected what would come in her near future...

Yuri Plisetsky is used to hiding injuries or keeping his problems to himself. He never wished to worry or bother his grandfather. It's enough he worries about Yuri paying the bills at a young age among other things.
But he's getting tired. Yuri stares at the blisters covering his feet, a typical figure skating injury, and they sting, sting badly. He wishes he didn't have to go through so many troubles just to insure a happy future. Even if a small part of him says to ask for help, Yuri keeps to himself and his feet just get worse.
He was just not expecting Yuuri and Viktor to notice.
