Scott reacted a lot more to Avid almost being killed by Apo. Owen sees the way Scott is acting and sees a bit of himself in that. Realizing that killing Avid would only set the wrath he had for Louis on himself he decides to try and have a talk with Avid. To see if they could become more amicable. He soon realises that maybe they're not as different as he thought they were.

Cleo and Pearl's sofa was not the most comfortable place to sleep, it sagged slightly in the middle so Owen couldn’t sleep flat and the arm rests were so hard that he required at least two pillows to comfortably rest his head against them. It smelt slightly of sea water and the cooked fish that kept getting placed beside him every evening, even when the thought of food was bland and dull.
Yet Owen had been laying there for the last two days after the funeral. Skin clutched to his chest with desperate fingers, an irrational part of him terrified someone would take it. Not that either of the two fishers made a move too, fishermen tended to be superstitious and both always seemed to know more than they let on.

Pearl and Cleo had both been on edge leading up to the anniversary of the Curse.
They’d done their best to clear the land of the dark magic that had been cast upon it eight hundred years prior. All the beacons that Abolish’s Shadow Organization hadn’t taken had been carefully dismantled. Each and every crypt had been meticulously sealed up. And the old, empty castle that once loomed dark and sinister over their woods had been turned into a concert venue that hosted dozens of raves each year. Shelby’s suggestion. She was still salty about having had to put so much effort into helping to build their ballroom, only for it to never be used.
Unfortunately, Oakhurst was the one place where no good deed ever went unpunished.
