He's terrified of what he might see in Louis’ eyes, of the distance that now lies between them.
Zayn sits next to Louis, and it feels as though they’ve unintentionally divided into two pairs, each drawn to the person they’ve always been closest to. It’s almost inevitable after everything that happened last night, though Zayn and Niall remain blissfully unaware of the true cause of the palpable tension."

Because it’d been hardly a week of the lot of them even knowing one another really, and they hardly knew anything about well… Anything, yet. But Louis knew there was something in it. And to be an arse, he raised his pinky.
“No changing,” Louis said. Harry dimpled, wrapping his pinky around Louis’.

It was a first of many of their own little personal promises to one another. And the first promise the both of them had broken.
