Across the ginormous river separated two tribes of pop Trolls:
One side was King Peppy's kingdom of Pop Village which was facing a predation problem along with an astonishing lack of technology.
The other tribe were the pop trolls of the south in Chart kingdom with their ruler King Creek.
Upon Creeks insistence of marrying poppy and leaving Peppy little to no choice but to agree for the sake of the rest of the pop trolls. Floyd the recently reinstated prince of Pop Village however has other ideas and decided to go to somewhere much more powerful; Mount Rageous to offer himself to marry their available monarch.

Summary
Poppy and Branch are two mount Rageons who are desperately seeking fame and even more so into keeping it, so they kidnap twin trolls Velvet and Veneer.
When Velvet becomes too translucent from their constant use and she finally escapes, they kidnap Floyd.
