After another major fight with Leon about his drinking “habits”, Claire is worried for both of her friends. Neither of them will talk about their problems. So maybe, she thinks, if they won’t talk to anyone else, they will talk to each other.
It’s a last ditch effort to keep both of her friends from spiralling down to rock bottom, but Claire is determined: maybe she can finally get both of them to realize that there is someone else out there in the world who understands what it’s like to feel like you don’t have a choice. Maybe who they really need is one another to get through it.

I wrote this out of frustration with Resident Evil 9’s story. Basically, this is my take on how I would write a story that properly brings in the Connections, Elpis, and the related lore.
This fic is adapted from Resident Evil 9. Some files, locations, and settings follow the official canon. The original was written in Chinese and translated into English with AI assistance, so some wording may sound unnatural. Thank you for your understanding.
1.This is mainly story-focused, so puzzles and combat are not described in detail. Events such as the Wrenwood Hotel section are mostly the same as in the game, so please assume they still happened.
2.The main characters are Leon, Sherry, and Jake, with appearances from Ada, Rebecca, Claire, and others.
3.Past events mainly follow the remake timeline, though some original-version elements may appear.
4.Some settings carry over from my previous fics: the RE protagonists know each other, Rebecca is a consultant researcher for the DSO and BSAA, and Jake and Sherry are married.
6.I will try to keep everyone in character, but interpretations may differ. Please forgive any awkward writing or slight OOC moments.
