Summary
Mid-2011. Jill Valentine has been cleared by the BSAA to return to daily life, though not to active duty. She is free of Albert Wesker’s control, but not the emotional scars or the unrelenting fear that she had left the world permanently worse off during those years. Much to the concern of her friends, Jill also refuses to talk to anyone about it or venture back out into the world that she believes she helped ruin.
Leon S. Kennedy is a mess. Or an idiot, depending on who you ask. Both, if that person is Claire Redfield. After another major fight with Leon about his drinking “habits”, Claire is worried for both of her friends. Neither of them will talk about their problems. So maybe, she thinks, if they won’t talk to anyone else, they will talk to each other.
It’s a last ditch effort to keep both of her friends from spiralling down to rock bottom, but Claire is determined: maybe she can finally get both of them to realize that there is someone else out there in the world who understands what it’s like to feel like you don’t have a choice. Maybe who they really need is one another to get through it.

Back in 1998, when a virus ravaged Raccoon City, Leon met a stray cat called Grace. She was a gorgeous light-furred Ragdoll with the softest fur and the most striking grey-blue eyes he’d ever seen. She was also very affectionate and cuddly when it came to him, but quickly resorted to hissing, biting, and scratching with everybody else, especially those who tried to get close to him with bad or romantic intentions. Now, 28 years later, he meets another Grace. She might be a human, but her hair and eyes remind him of his deceased cat, who died protecting him back in Spain against Saddler.
Ever since she was little, Grace would dream of being a cat. She dreamt of a warm home, a cosy lap, a gentle owner with the most gorgeous voice and smell and who gave the best pets, and a lot of danger. Her mother liked to say that the dreams were the result of her watching too much cat-themed media, but when she’s suddenly transported back into the heart of the Raccoon City outbreak in 1998 in the body of a cat, she realises those weren’t dreams but memories of her previous life. A life she has to relive again.

Claire had just wanted to find her brother. It was supposed to be simple and easy: get to the R.P.D., chew Chris out for losing contact with her, get back to normal life.
It wasn't that simple. Nothing ever was. Chris is missing. There's a zombie who's weirdly helpful. An abandoned little girl who's way too popular with all sorts of the wrong people.
Not to mention the big guy in the trenchcoat, the guy actively becoming a monster, and the FBI agent who's suspiciously invested in the virus that had created the monsters.
She's gonna find a way out of this hellhole, and she'll drag both Leon and Sherry out with her too, even if it kills her. -

Because he can’t. Not with Sherry waiting at home. Not with so many things still up in the air. Going out to drink is on the very bottom of his list until he’s certain their house of cards won’t collapse on top of them in the next moment.
He shakes his head with an apologetic grimace. “Sorry, I already have plans. Maybe some other time though,” he quickly tags on. Then, before he can say more and dig himself into a deeper grave, he turns to leave. But not before he catches a glimpse of Grayson’s hopeful smile.
Or: After Claire leaves to look for her brother, Leon and Sherry manage to flee from Raccoon City and the military and decide to hide out in Blüdhaven. Meeting and befriending Dick Grayson there turns out to be one of the best things that could have happened to them. Or is it?
