“Can we—please?” Hongjoong asks, the words slipping out before he can overthink them into silence. His voice is quiet but strained, need threading through it unmistakably. His body feels warm all over, desire simmering beneath his skin, something that’s been building slowly all evening and now refuses to be ignored.
He doesn’t even know how to explain what he wants. The shape of it feels blurry, tangled up with exhaustion and affection and the lingering ache of being touched and then wanting more. Shame pricks at him for needing this much, for asking when he’s the one who’s usually careful, restrained. But Seonghwa looks at him and understands anyway. He always does.

Seonghwa is a vampire who had pretty much given up on the idea of friendship. Other vampires aren't good company and no one else lives long enough to stick around. And then Hongjoong, a scrappy werewolf with too much time on his hands and a desire to get under Seonghwa's skin, pushes his way into the vampire's routine.
Right as Seonghwa is getting comfortable, Hongjoong has the bright idea that Seonghwa should bite him and fuck up their entire dynamic. Lovely!

He could’ve ignored the unspoken words, the silent questions, the lingering, and his friendship with Hongjoong would have remained untainted by possibility. In a world in which humans and vampires live side by side, Seonghwa is a struggling human desperate for a steady income and a roof over his head. However, he does not anticipate being assigned to the head of the most powerful coven in the area, Kim Hongjoong.
Seonghwa has never had a home, but he begins to find one in the least likely of places, discovering that Hongjoong and the vampires within his coven are kinder than most of the humans he’s encountered in his life. But humans look down on feeders, and Seonghwa catches the eye of many vampires as he becomes a permanent fixture at Hongjoong’s side.
He isn’t safe from anyone, humans or vampires alike, and when disaster strikes he finds himself more entangled with Hongjoong and his coven than he had ever expected.
