“Well, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world,” Scooter said. “It’s just hanging out a little, isn’t it? I probably wouldn’t even have to kiss them.”
“But still… they’d be into you.” Walter’s eyebrows furrowed. “You might not even like them!”
“Well, I might!” Scooter said. “Besides, even if I didn’t like them, it wouldn’t be that bad, and I’d be raising money for charity! I’d go on a date with anyone for that.”
Walter gulped, voice raising an octave. “A-anyone?”
“Yeah, why not? It’ll just be some fun!”
Walter swallowed, eyes wide as saucers. “Y-yeah.” He sat back down as if in a trance, raising no further objections.

But as soon as he walked in, Scooter saw him and immediately started gushing about Gene Kelly, and his smile. Walter just stood there in awe, any thoughts of the jacket replaced by Scooter ScooterScooterScooter Scooter…
The next day, he’d tried again, but Scooter was going over some lighting stuff with Kermit, and Walter didn’t want to get in their way. And the day after, Gonzo lit half the theater on fire. No one got hurt, thank goodness, but there hadn’t been much time for talking during the mess.

He remembered how tired Scooter had looked yesterday. The bags under his reddened eyes had been especially prominent, and he’d been yawning practically every other sentence. He looked miserable, and Walter’s heart hurt to see him so broken down.
Maybe a coffee would cheer him up, or at least give him the energy boost he needed to get through the day. “Could I get a small house blend too?”

Or; the one where Future!Leo somehow managed to luck out on a one in a million mere millisecond chance of a freak glitch in the space-time continuum that sends him back into the present, where the Invasion has been successfully driven back. And it looks like it was a one-way ticket travel.
