Summary
“Don’t fall in love with the barista,” the chalkboard sign of the cafe warns in the threatening bold letters of the manager's handwriting. Logan, the barista in question, hates it, wants so badly to burn the damn thing inside the oven, mainly for the reason that people don’t often heed it.
Because the barista is already in love with someone. And it happens to be the one customer who actually listens to the chalkboard. Never has Logan wanted to take the sign and smash it against his knee.

As Kaveh inspects the space that is about to become his new home, he thinks to himself that the room with those marbled counters and a familiar set of wood utensils hanging on the wall. In fact, when he squints closer, he recognizes the model of the stand mixer that’s sitting in the corner. It almost looks like—
“My name is Al-Haitham,” the man—Al-Haitham, apparently—says, and Kaveh looks at him, looks at the chest that he vaguely recognized, turns to look at the counters that he now pinpoints from motherfucking YouTube, and fully lets his jaw drop again with no regard for propriety.
Fuck first impressions. It seems that they’ve already had theirs.
“No the fuck you aren’t,” Kaveh says.
Kaveh moves into the house of his archnemesis. And then he bakes for him, as one does for their mortal enemy that they definitely don't have a crush on.

Summary
Mehrak has this habit of opening Kaveh’s door when it’s not fully closed, nosing her way into his office and then leaping onto his lap to snuggle her head into his stomach. So he’s not entirely unsurprised when he hears the door creak open, slow and deliberate the way his cat always does it, and he doesn’t even look up to check that it’s her before he speaks.
“Not right now, solnyshko,” he calls distractedly, too focused on his current sketch.
There’s silence, as there usually is since Mehrak can’t actually respond to him. Then, “Don’t be so vulgar, senior.”
Kaveh accidentally calls Al-Haitham a pet name in a different language, and then he keeps doing it. It's too bad he forgets that Al-Haitham is fluent in all of them.
