Five years after Sozin's Comet, the world is still healing.
While a lot of work has been done to stimulate unity between the nations, the Fire Nation remains a wound that many people have not forgotten. Fire Lord Zuko devoted himself to rebuilding his country’s reputation, but trust does not come easily after a hundred-year war.
The solution the council proposed is simple: an arranged marriage between Fire Lord Zuko and the eldest daughter of the respected Beifong family from the Earth Kingdom.

The Hero Commission had deemed the prison Tartarus too extreme in the case of Persephone, an orphan with the quirk Siren. After an incident involving 27 deaths and 12 critically wounded, the flower-loving teen was captured by Endeavor, forcefully gagged, and tossed in a soundproof room until the contruction of Asphodel was complete.
4 years later, the Commission decided to unleash Persephone upon the hero school U.A. so they could use Asphodel as a detention center for powerful children that they wanted to train-- children with a chance of quirk rehabilitation.
