Summary
Buck had thought the black mask that completely covers the top half of the guy's face looked silly, when he'd seen it on the news.
Now, with the man in front of him, he realizes why no one jokes about the vigilante's appearance. Even though he clearly doesn't perceive Buck as a threat, he seems like a mountain rather than a real person. All of his muscles look toned, and there's something dangerous in the set of his shoulders. Still, he offers Buck a small smile, one that kind of reminds him of Eddie's. He reaches his hands down to help Buck stand. It puts the man's biceps next to his face.
Buck swallows. Be normal when you talk to the hot vigilante, he thinks to himself.
"You know they make bigger shirt sizes, right?" he asks instead.

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Safely tucked into his subconscious. Forcefully, safely tucked there, even if Buck has to do it a hundred times over. He’s lost enough in his life. He can’t lose this. He finally has a family again, but this one he doesn’t plan on tearing apart.
Buck turns around to face Eddie again, arms spread wide for some dramatic, half assed rebuttal that he has to come up with so that Eddie will roll his eyes at him like it always does, followed by that little laugh he can never help but contain, the one that makes Buck’s chest feel like it’s going to burst.
Buck opens his mouth, and then the car hits.
OR
Buck saves Eddie's life, again. This time, the traumatic brain injury knocks some sense into him.

Summary
This is the various conlang dialogue I translated for Netflix's The Witcher. The language featured in the show, Hen Linge (also referred to as the Elder Speech), is based on words and phrases that can be found in Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher book series. Almost all of his material was incorporated, though there were a few inconsistencies that needed to be ironed out. And, of course, where new material was needed, I created it. Sapkowski's original conception for the language featured many words from existing natlangs, albeit altered. Where I created new words, they were a priori.
This now also includes the Roozh Linge dialogue from The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. Roozh Linge is an aposteriori language Jessie Peterson and I created together.

Summary
Getting stuck in Kaedwen in winter had never been on Jaskier's plan. It's cold, they don't appreciate his music and nobody likes their national beverage anyway. The only redeeming thing Kaedwen has is Kaer Morhen, so Jaskier does what any reasonable bard would do in this situation: he decides to charm his way into Kaer Morhen to hibernate with Geralt and the other witchers. If nothing it will be an experience no human has ever had, fuel for songs and poems for years to come, while finally teaching him a thing or two about witchers he's just dying to know.
Curiosity tended to kill the cat, but Jasker had always seen himself as more of a bird anyway.

A slight movement of air like the parting of curtains, open for a moment then gone, powerful and yet empty. An impossible magic flickered through the universe. A wrongness that itched at his skin. And as the unmoment echoed away, it was followed by an agonized sound, halfway to a whimper, halfway to a sob.
Geralt spun toward it. Instinctively acting against the threat; back across the floor and down, blade held to flesh before a second breath was even drawn.
But instead of a threat, a naked, terrified man lay, sickly and shivering, on the hot stones by the fireplace. His arms drawn up to hide his face, his knees tight to his chest. Fear and pain written in every contour of his being.
"Jaskier?"

Though Geralt tore the world apart searching for him, no trace was ever found. Not even magic could track him. It was like he had been somehow erased from existence...Then the bard returned, broken and transformed. His body, an intricate tapestry of cruel, beautiful spellwork.
