Summary
Steve snuck away from Avengers Tower and his job with SHIELD without telling anyone he was leaving. He didn’t bring his bike or shield or phone. Nothing that could be tracked. It was during this self-appointed time off, during his much-needed vacation, that he met Bucky Barnes. It changed both of their lives.

Summary
The first two years after Bucky gets out of the ice are-- surprisingly easy. Serve his country, learn to use his charmed robot hand, make friends, don’t think about the spark of magic in him that’s gone out, see the world, try to live with the grief (try to live with the grief, try to--)
Maybe they’re not that easy, in the end, but he’s settling - until he gets reluctantly pulled out of the Army and has Steve’s shield (Steve’s shield, its magic wary and curious and half-dormant) thrust onto him again, even though he’s already turned it down once before. The world has changed and so has he, but as he tries to immerse himself into a new life, he meets a ghost he could never leave behind.

Summary
Despite the fact that Steve Rogers’ life hasn't always been a bed of roses, he’s fortunate enough to have a lot of good things to call his own. He has a loving mother, two wonderful kids, marvelous friends, and a beautiful house with a big, sprawling yard, to name but a few. One thing Steve does not have, however, is green fingers. One late spring morning, Steve decides to call in the help of a local gardening company to restore his yard to its former glory. When gorgeous gardener Bucky Barnes shows up on his doorstep the next day, he unwittingly upturns not only Steve’s yard, but his life, too. Over the course of the summer, it’s more than just the garden that begins to blossom.

Summary
When Bucky fell from that train, when he slipped through Steve’s fingers, it had felt like the end of the world, a cataclysm whose blast radius was limited to one Steven Grant Rogers. Everyone else, he’d thought, could survive it, even if it hurt them. Steve could not. Steve had not, even if that had proven to be a temporary state of affairs.
Now, Steve’s world doesn’t feel like it’s ending. It feels like it’s beginning again: a violent transformation, a terrible rebirth. It roars through him, hope and horror in equal measure, drowning everything else out.
After the Avengers find a frozen Bucky in an abandoned HYDRA base in Siberia, Steve thinks that everything will be okay now that he has Bucky back, now that he's safe and alive and healing, now that they're together again. But Bucky's road to recovery is long, and Steve and Bucky have fundamentally different ideas about what it means to come home from the war seventy years later than they'd expected to. Those different ideas might even be irreconcilable. Even if Steve has found Bucky, he's going to have to reckon with the ways he's lost himself along the way, or risk losing Bucky forever.
