The loud bang on his door came right on time and Wylan still startled all the same, wiping at his nose. "Are you finished with your temper tantrum?" His father's voice demanded, loud and cruel. Wylan stared at his locked bedroom door and slowly stood up. His legs collapsed under him, but he managed to catch himself on the dresser. Useless.

Wylan has an intense nightmare about a part of the abuse his father used to put him through. Later on, he wakes up in bed with Jesper, who spends some time comforting him. The last chapter is a bonus of Jesper's inner thoughts regarding Jan Van Eck and how much he hates him.
WARNING: This fic contains scenes where Wylan is having an intense nightmare about dealing with heavy self-hatred, abuse from his father (nothing physical written-out), intense hunger, and being starved for a few days. Please read with care♡
