Summary
At the cottage, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov made a plan for their upcoming future. They are ready for Ilya's final year with the Raiders and Shane is prepared to take the Metros all the way again. But when Shane's medical documents are leaked during training camp, he is outed as a joke for the whole world to see. An investigation into the leak mid-season causes catastrophic results for the Montreal Metros and Shane. Things spiral as Shane and Ilya are forced to make choices about their careers, their plans, and their relationship when things go past the breaking point.

Ilya held his gaze a second longer. A lot had changed. Shane's jet black hair had grown long, the messy, uneven ends grazing his shoulders. It was as if he'd abandoned grooming entirely, yet the look still worked for him. A rough shadow of stubble covered his jaw now, making him appear older, more rugged. But it was his eyes that made Ilya pause. They were still brown, still sharp, only... quieter, as if something in them had dulled. The sight stirred an uncomfortable familiarity in Ilya, like looking at a reflection of someone he used to be, and that thought bothered him more than he expected.
or: Ilya ended things with Shane at the 2014 Vegas event, only to deeply regret it when fate crossed their paths again in the summer of 2024.
