People say your life flashes before your eyes when you die, but the Five had lived for so long. Yet... everything was so monotonous. Centuries slaving away, fulfilling the desires of lesser cookies. Even more spent trapped under that blasted tree.
Few people, fewer things stood out to them in life.
One of those things was Proud Immortal Demon's way.
Not because it was good, but because it was just the opposite. The worst story they had ever had the misfortune of reading. It was such a terrible tale that it was the one thing their minds locked on as they perished.
To wake up in that world as canonfodder, or, witches forbid, one of Luo Binghe's wives? They will do anything to get the plot as far away as possible from the original storyline.

The Fount of Knowledge was a die-hard bookworm. He read every single piece of literature available to him, regardless of whether he completely agreed with the logic or misunderstood the feelings poured into the script (he wasn’t well-versed in cookie emotions, the genius of him).
He considered himself an enjoyer of every book!
Until he finished Proud Immortal Demon Way. If he could reverse time to when the Witches first gave him a thick, thick handwritten book, he would’ve smacked it from their hands and cut off all possible contact! Proud Immortal Demon Way was- was- ughhh, it was Shit!
Shadow Milk Cookie still thought the same way: the bookworm trait baked into his first dough hadn’t escaped him, even with a new body and better personality. So when he woke up in said world after his fateful Final Battle (TM) with Pure Vanilla Cookie, it was no surprise at how enraged he was. Even in death, the Witches continued to mess with him!!!
... Or was it really Proud Immortal Demon Way?
