Hua Cheng hears a crash and a series of shrieks coming from Xie Lian’s private quarters and he hurries over, unsurprised to see another mirror broken. Xie Lian is leaning against the wall, fallen to his knees, with only an outer robe on. It doesn’t take a genius to understand what happened.
“Gege, why do you do this to yourself?” Hua Cheng asks without expecting an answer.
“Go away,” Xie Lian mumbles, drawing his robe around himself together. But he can’t cover up all the faces; the ones on his legs show plainly. They’re relatively silent for now, having already screamed out their terror. Hua Cheng is glad to see that they aren’t bloody. Xie Lian knows they won’t come off but occasionally he will try to hack them away.
“Aren’t you cold? Let’s get you something thicker to wear,” Hua Cheng coaxes, kneeling down next to Xie Lian, holding his hands out for Xie Lian to take. He doesn’t touch him yet though. Hua Cheng is here for Xie Lian. He will always wait for his god to come to him when he’s ready.
