For most of the cultivation world, life regains some semblance of peace after the war. The Venerated Triad, however, are facing a host of old and worsening problems, with Nie Mingjue becoming increasingly violent and unpredictable under the influence of Baxia, Lan Wangji in a coma after his whipping, and Jin Guangyao supervising the chaotic Xue Yang as he reconstructs the Yin Tiger Tally.
