Scar has found decent support for himself while working for G.H.O.S.T. He gets a steady paycheck, the insurance works well enough, and he's made good friends with people he finds himself able to rely on. He wouldn't say it's a perfect life, but it's good.
It's not like he uses half of that stuff anyway, though it's the thought that counts.Sure would be a shame if some random guy with an ego the size of Saturn came in and threatened to ruin all of that.

“He is here,” It says, that confused expression back.
“No he isn’t!” Jon denies. “You—you’re suppressing him. You’re hurting him.”
“He is not stimulated by pain.”
“I’ll—I’ll free you. Martin I promise. I’ll free you.”
“I am not restrained.”
“I’m not talking to you!” Jon’s voice goes dangerously low.

His seven-year-old ward walks up to him. “Is Batman your boyfriend?”
The incredulous splutter of “What?”, the annoyed “Why, and what motivated you to think in that direction?”, or the matter-of-fact “No” are all plausible responses. He briefly considers the benefits of Dick’s assumption. For one, his sudden disappearances, as well as Batman’s all-too-frequent appearances, can be explained by his fictional romance with the Dark Knight. All things considered, Bruce goes by “You just found out?”, and adds a smug raised eyebrow for good measure.
“Wow,” Dick’s eyes gleam in excitement, and Bruce wonders what part of that knowledge warrants that giddy reaction. “With Batman? Really? That is wicked cool.”

.If the universe were kind, Martin's soulmate timer would have stopped the first time he touched Jonathan Sims, those ever-changing numbers fading into pale remnants on his skin, the search finally over.
But his timer was already long dead, lost to a man whose skin had been smudged with lightning bolts and the silver glow of starlight.

OR -- I wrote a chatfic like it's 2020, except it's a TMA/Mechs crossover that really never should've left the dark crevices of my brain that it crawled out of. Featuring a vast array of homosexual hijinks, innumerable octokittens, emotional constipation to such a degree that no amount of laxatives could fix it, and a fuckload of explosions.
ALSO -- This fic contains violence. And character death. Personally, I wouldn't say that it warrants any archive warnings, as I personally wouldn't consider it graphic and, although it is character death, the characters in question are kind of immortal, so, y'know. But I'm using 'chose not to use warnings' because others might consider it graphic or MCD. Please bear this in mind, and look after yourself :]

"I am tired, Jayce. The floor is cold. You are being ridiculous."
A storm, one bed, and a certain man lead to some questionable decisions on Jayce's part. He'd planned to stay on his side of the mattress—but the world is too complicated for that.
