Summary
Simon wakes up. He hadn't thought he would wake up after his lungs were filled with blood. And yet, here he is, in a pitch-black room, wounds tended to, listening to the most beautiful song he's ever heard.
He's in a world where the stars are alive, and he's been rescued from his blood-soaked iron coffin by a strange, clever little rock-spider alien trying to save the stars. Of course he'll help. Too bad neither of them are biologists...
But the new human ship approaching them might have someone aboard who is... if they don't turn Simon into a lab rat first, anyway.[BloodyMary where Simon gets wormholed to PHM 'verse but it's before the Hail Mary arrives, so he's saved by Rocky and spends a while on the Blip-A]

Grace turns his gaze back to the craft in front of him. Now that he takes a closer look, it is a craft, and a shoddily constructed one at that. Even from this far away, he can see patches of metal roughly welded together to create something just this side of airtight.
At least it used to be. The thing looked like it had been hit by a bulldozer, and then backed over for good measure. There were holes punched into the metal big enough to stick his arm through, the glass on the front was cracked, one tap away from shattering completely, and the whole thing was covered in dents and scratches. Grace pressed his lips together and hummed curiously. “That’s a tank of blood?”
“Yes. We need your help studying what’s inside.”
“You mean the blood?” He frowned. “Are you sure you don’t have anyone better for this? Like, aren’t there doctors who spend their entire lives analyzing blood? Surely they’d be—”
He was cut off as a loud thud made him jump. For a brief second, an inhuman hand pressed against the glass. It had five long, thin fingers, with thin membranes stretching between each to make it webbed.
Grace gulped.
Something was in there.
